I was a heavy Rollie smoker, heavy dark tobacco too, and my friend gave me a Vape on his 24mg nicotine Clearomiser and I coughed more than I would with my 1st rollie of the day, I chose 18mg strength juice and haven't had a problem coughing. paradisevapes do a VG only option on some of their products, and you can chat to them on the phone for advice. I hope your mate cracks it!!

puffin are good juice-makers, try him on their 100% vg Flue-cured tobacco, it's lish if he's having no problem with yours, what's the difference in setup & juice to what he's trying to use ?? That would be my starting point, and work through combining yours and his kit and juice to eliminate his problem. Also, vaping in a similar manner to smoking (i.e. how you draw, swizz the vapour round your mouth, then inhale) can do this, as well as not drinking enough fluids. MAny, many factors to consider... I'm sure he'll get there Hey GunJack I think you either read my statement wrong or I wasn't very clear. When I said mine was ok, what I meant was there was nothing wrong with mine and he tried it but had the same problem of gagging / coughing with my e-cig as he did with his own. We've both got exactly the same setup as well, Kanger mini protank 2 and ego style batteries, both using 1.80ohm coil heads. As for Puffin that's good to hear they're good juicemakers, yes, once I can get him sorted with hopefully higher VG content then I shall put him on to Puffin liquids to try out, and actually I think they do the B & H Gold tobacco flavour which he is used to smoking now. He can always experiment with other flavours later. I put a whole litre of water in front of him which he was drinking in between each puff whilst he was trying out some of my different liquids, it simply made no difference to the gagging and I made him only take small puffs at a time, I was getting more and more frustrated with the whole scenario but I did keep calm, so as not to upset him or put him off

I coughed my heart out and then worried that when I got mine delivered I might not be able to use it. Anyway, she told me to take small puffs to start with, and of course, I was perfectly ok when I eventually got mine from the postie

That happened to my friend when I introduced her to vaping. We solved it by switching to 50/50 menthol ( lemon) at 12 mg. It did the trick, after a couple of weeks she upped the nic and has had no trouble since and can vape anything that isn't more than 50/50. PG seems to be the problem for some peeps.

I think the answers to your friend's problem have already been answered, but here's another little trick that various people have mentioned which might help. As it is the mucous membranes in your mouth which absorb the majority of the nicotine from the vapour, get him to take a mouthful of vapour and then hold it in his mouth, rolling it around to get the flavour, for a few seconds before inhaling. This will make the vapour less irritating and may help your friend. Do let us know if it works, or if you have any joy with the VG addition thingy! Oh my God, I've just tried doing that myself, and ended up coughing my heart out, it's made my throat a bit sore too Oh well, not everything works the same for everyone eh!! Yeah, I will keep this thread updated as I try to work with him on the VG side of things, and less nicotine, I'm sure we will get him there in the end as he really does want to give up the stinkies. I've just arranged with him to go to our local e-cig shop tomorrow to see if we can get some VG liquid. I just hope we can get it over here

Not sure about Spanish pharmacies, but Boots sell VG in 500ml bottles for cough mixtures etc. Provided it has BPC or a euro-equivalent, I'm sure it will be OK. You might find it will need diluting with either distilled water or better still, cheap Vodka to make it runny enough to pour - neat VG is very viscous!! Check the label carefully and you should be OK!

Quick update: didn't manage to get the guy to our local e-cig shop yesterday as the poor guy has gone down with a bug of some sort. Was looking forward to getting him sorted out, alas, won't be till next week now.

I was going to suggest the same as chykensa - i.e. holding the vape in his mouth for a few seconds. That ususually works for mosts folks when they start vaping. Surprised it made you cough toots but it could still be worth getting him to try it when he is better
