Coincidently, I am in the process of getting LI for MR Dolly. I have been using comparison websites and have found that most only ask "have you used any tobacco products in the last 12mths?" As he can honestly say he hasn't then I suppose we will be ok? I hope so!
Don't need car insurance as motability pays it. We only rent here as we have a house in NZ for pension. So we don't have other insurances. I also don't get insurance for products either. I would rather line my savings account with the money these company's charge and replace if and when I need to.

Also worth looking at pension annuities too.
It seems that if you declare yourself as a smoker then your pension pay out is likely to be higher, simply because the odds are that smokers are likely to die younger, hence less money paid out in the long run.
I'm assuming this doesn't apply to company pension schemes.
Dolly, I 'd be asking life insurers for very specific details about their cover, if only because insurance companies are slimy sneaky whatnots...
If they consider nicotine to be a tobacco product and you haven't declared it then you might be stuffed..

If you died and they wanted to investigate whether you smoked, would vaping and nicotine deposits show up in the lungs?? I presume it would be in the bloodstream too?
