Very weird......I D/L the new MVR ver 4.1 this morning......connected my new e-vic to the pc & set my preferences......disconnected it & then connected my other e-vic, in order to do the same....MVR froze, so I re-booted the pc, re-connected my e-vic & nothing........the e-vic won't switch on at all.....tried changing batteries but still nothing...........can't work it out........

Try what is suggested in the final section of the guide Alvo posted by holding down the power button and connecting the USB lead whilst holding down the button and keep holding it for approx 2 seconds after connecting the USB.
Your UDT-L has been repaired by the way.

Nope...............MVR says device not connected & it won't turn on..........my other e-vic is recognised, so it can't be the cable or battery.

Found this searching google....
first if using windows 7 make sure mvr is closed, Right click the MVR icon and choose Properties, then Click the tab Compatibility and enable Compatibility mode (Windows XP (Service Pack 3) ). MVR---Properties---Compatibility---Compatibility mode (Windows XP (Service Pack3), then remove the battery from the evic, open the mvr now plug the usb cable into the computer, then hold down the fire button on the evic and plug the usb into the evic, windows should reinstall the drivers and the mvr will read the evic and allow you to reload/update the firmware to the control, head, once done unplug and try to turn the evic on with 5 clicks, I had to this method three times and a lot of clicking to turn on but it did eventually turn on, and is now working like a charm

OK.....did that & followed instructions..........nothing showed on MVR, but when I unplugged it & attempted to switch the e-vic on, it fired up.......I then re-connected the e-vic & tried to back up the data from device to pc & MVR froze......The pc itself hasn't froze, just MVR.
