I bought two new IClear 16s and set about using them. When I put the second on it kept making me have to reset the battery due to it cutting out. Is this a known fault?

Try swapping the heads between the two I clears ... At least then you should know whether it's a coil issue or a connectivity problem

Def sounds like a short, do you have another head to try in it?

Short....Short....Short.........forget to mention.....Short, don't even think of re-coiling it or you will end up in a straight jacket, bin it and get a new head, mass produced and there will always be rogue ones out there.
Maybe even contact the vendor for a replacement.

Agreed. Impossibly hard to recoil an iClear16 with two coils, though I did wonder if I could do it with a single 2 ohm coil instead of two at about 4 ohms. As a challenge I might have a go some time and see if I end up with something that works like a CE4/CE5.

Half the reason of the i16 being as popular as it is, is down to it being dual coil.. don't see the point in a single coil i16? Will be just as lacklustre as a ce5 Tease-smiley I had a go at recoiling one a while ago and they are a right pita!! One thing you'll need with an iclear is spare heads.. too much hassle to recoil considering how much the heads are.. Mind you, they do last a fair while!

Yep, Dan is right.
I did get a chance to have a go at re-coiling that iClear16. It was very difficult, as the base of the head is recessed inside a metal tube. I got it done, it took about an hour and I ended up with a CE4 type clearo as expected. Of course it wasn't worth the trouble, I just did it as a challenge. The re-coiled clearo works, and produces 1/2 the vapour and flavour of a dual-coil iClear. Obviously.
There was some benefit - it reminded me just how good the iClears are compared to what I used to use when I started vaping back in March. Well worth the heavier juice consumption. As Dan pointed out, the iClears also last for a long time. All my other iClears are still working as good as new ones. It was just one that I had already used for several weeks, it had a coil fail and that was the iClear I experimented with.

When you can buy new heads for 1.20 or 1.75 from uk they are great value for money ... Can understand the challenge of having a go though ... Has anyone successfully done a dual recoil ?

£1.40 each is the cheapest I've found if you buy 5 Myepack
