I have just brought a Riva 110 on Crissies suggestion on a different forum. I decided to come here due to being in the Uk. A couple of things. 1) Whats a cartomiser? and where do i get better ones. 2) Where is the best cheapest place to get the jucie. I brought the jucie from the same place as I got the Riva and its OK but I know the E-lites mentol I had was nicer than the one I got from here. Any suggestions on flavors? best normal tabbaco flavor and where to get it. Can you buy a decent marlborough light one? can i get Free sample etc.. 3) what other bits can I get? bigger longer lasting carts? a needle and works? anything I love buying stuff! 4) is there a smaller battery I can stick on my Riva for when im out the whole thing looks kinda big. lol. 5) does the more nicotine you have effect TH? I think i brought the highest and its a bit strong, I can't sleep lol. 6) Is there anyone who had weened themselves off nicotine using e-cgs? Can you reduce to nothing with jucie? I've managed to refill my e-lite which is ok too. but like the hit of the other one. Lots of questions I know, I'm sure other have wondered the same (unless I am the only one noooooooooo)

Hi Pe7e Welcome to the forum and the world of e-cigs. I only started recently myself so I'll have a go with your questions but mayeb wait for an expert to answer correctly 1) its an atomiser and cartridge in one, I've tried one and rather enjoy it better than the cartridge/atomiser way. I got a few extras from jason at www.vapeescape.co.uk I bought the duel coil types and find them rather enjoyable. You can buy singles to try them. 2) Cheap doesn't always mean best I found www.paradisevapeuk.com to have a good selection, also some good and popular ones available from the vape escape site. Check the suppliers section of the forum for a huge list of places to buy from, and theres a discount code thread there too Lot's of places do a pick and mix selection to try a few different types a little cheaper. 3) Just read the forum's you will be in your shopping element with all the shiney things available lol 4) No idea, I think the smallest battery is the 650 one. I'm probably wrong lol 5) I think it does, but as 4 I'm prob wrong still lol 6) Yes many people have done that, 0mg juice is available. And nope your not the only one I asked 4 pages of questions when I first got here lol You will find the people here extremely helpful and friendly and very knowledgable

Hi pe7e, Jemima did a great job answering your questions, but there is one of them that I may be able to help you with.
4) The 650 ma is the smallest Riva/eGo battery, but you can use a 510 battery as the Riva/eGo parts are interchangeable with the Joye 510. If you are using a 510 atomizer on your Riva battery, it will fit nicely on a 510 battery, but if you are using a Mega atomizer and cartridge, it's going to look "clunky" on the 510 battery and I'm not sure if it would work very well.
Be warned though, the smaller the battery, the sooner it will have to be recharged. The 510 battery lasts only about an hour and the 510 XL only about two hours.

Hi Pe7e and welcome You have been given good advice already. I much prefer cartomisers over atomiser/cartridge combinations. They are cheaper, can be refilled many times and are great for filling in advance and carrying a few extra ones with you, perhaps with different flavours in. They also hold considerably more than a standard cartridge. Nicotine does effect throat hit but so does the amount of PG in your e-liquid. The more PG content the higher the throat hit and the more VG content the more vapour. Try reducing your nic strength but going for a higher PG content. You can gradually reduce your nic content over time and there are plenty of zero nicotine juices available. Jerry is correct regarding the batteries - for the difference in size between the smaller 650mah batteries and the larger 1100mah batteries the difference in 'lasting time' is quite dramatic. Standard 510 (cig like) batteries are an alternative for out and about, but you would need to carry 2 or 3 of them and they won't work well (if at all) with any low resistance atomiser/cartomiser attached. Hope that helps

Hello & welcome Pe7e - good to see you here Nothing much to add to the good advice you have been given. Apart from letting you know that you can cut the nicotine strength of the juice you have got by adding some VG ( Glycerine)to it. Doing so will also cut the flavour & throat hit though it will give you more vapour. You can buy a small bottle of glycerine from supermarket baking sections or a larger bottle from a chemist - usually just over £1 for a 100ml bottle.

Hi pe7w,
Yes the clearomizers will work on your Riva, boge cartomizers are also a a good intro product and can be bought individually.
I too would advise caution against using the low resistant dual coil cartomizers on Riva batteries as have heard from quite a few that they fried their batteries with them. I do use them on my Ego batteries without any problems though.
In case you haven't already seen the vendor discount section then I'd recommend you do to save yourself a few bob.

Pe7e - Hello and Welcome...
All good advice given above - I would certainly confirm the caution about using LR Attys or Carts with any Riva 510 Battery.
I put an LR Cartomiser on my Riva 510 Battery and pressed the button and it fired but wouldn't stop - I unscrewed the Cart and discovered that the battery was dead - In my naivety I thought that perhaps the battery was not properly charged and so stuck the same LR Cart onto a brand new charged 510 Battery - same thing happened - battery fired and just kept on firing - only way I could stop it was to unscrew the Cart - overall result - TWO COMPLETELY FRIED 510 BATTERIES...
I still use my Riva a lot I just use standard Attys and Carts on it - all LR and Dual-Coil stuff goes on my "better" battery units (SD Mk2, Precise-T, VV Mod etc...)
Yes I know that some people will say that they have not had any problems but trust me don't risk it just to find out!!!
Later...

As Ivan says, caution is advised with LR on some batteries. You shouldn't have any problems with Boge LR because they are now regulated at 2ohms, whereas they used to be available at 1.5ohms (which is what the Dual Coils are).
