chrisjw .... Just to get this straight in my mind in case mine has the same loose positive pole .... if I unscrew and remove the 510 pin and then unscrew the collector tank from the bottom of the base I will have access to the underside of the base and there is a means of tightening the positive pole from there? Yes.....you'll be able to tighten or loosen it, by turning the centre post by hand.

I hope I've made this clear, as it's definitely a weakness & will happen if you're not careful

Yeah...............If you can imagine it, the centre post is threaded at the top & screws into the positive post (the air hole that you see in the top) where you coil your wire around... The 510 adjuster connector on the base, screws into the centre post from the bottom......What will happen, is if you attempt to tighten or adjust the top where the coil wire goes, by tightening the 510 screw, it will shear the top of the centre post off, as it will tighten into the centre post & turn everything. I hope that's clear enough, 'cos I've just re-read it & confused myself (although, in all honesty, that's not difficult)......... That has made it very clear Chris .... thanks mate and once again, so sorry to hear about yours.

In all fairness though I have read this is a weakness on original Kayfun if you over-tighten 510 pin Look HERE @freefromsmoking for detailed pics / instruction manual Video might help also

Reminds me of my 2 month wait for the ithaka clone and when it finally arrived the bottom O ring seal was broken ... So f**king annoying ... But at least a spare was only an ebay click away .... I really feel for you ... My 3.1 clone is lost in the Singapore post time vortex ... If or when it arrives I'll be really careful ... Thanks for the warning and I hope you get it sorted

I have the EHpro 3.1 clone from Modsandatties that Rich071 reviewed a couple of weeks ago (when I say the I have, it is wrapped up under the Christmas tree and so I haven't had it apart to see how things are) so I am keeping my fingers crossed that it wont have any brass parts ... I can never understand why they produce 99% of the thing in stainless steel and then skimp on a couple of brass screws.

@freefromsmoking i am 99% sure the Ehpro version will kick the crap out of the FT version as they make some real good copies of everything. So a good present to open

Hopefully, however, all is not lost........a forum member has very kindly offered me his broken 3.1 original, that I can salvage the post from............this forum is amazing.

Drop it off Chris if you have no joy with FT. I'll see what I can do.

I've posted a link to Svoemestos site on the wanted ad you placed Chris but I guess you dont need it anymore..
Just want to clarify something about these clones...
Before I spent a shed load on a couple of original 3.1s I bought some clones to try out.
First pair were from modsandatties. I had a few issues with those amd so returned them..(these shall be known as pair 1) Not being a defeatist I then ordered a pair from thevapetank. These (pair 2) were in a completely different league to the first pair I bought!
Machining was better, airflow was better (and yes i did totally strip each and every single one to check for swarf)
This is just my opinion, but I'm 90% sure that the ones sold by modsandatties are NOT the ehpro clones.. there was too many differences between the two pairs i bought.. I asked this question of the vendor and was sidetracked both times. Never received a refund so quick!!
Just a word of warning really.. I had to ptfe tape both the fill screw to stop it leaking (which didn't work I might add!) and also the adjustable 510 to get a decent draw..
Pair 2 worked flawlessly from the second I started using them.. that's the ehpro way..
