Aluminium Coiling Station

Here is my latest offering........the "Greigster`s Aluminium Coiling Station".


These are hand made by myself so they vary from one to another. Each one will include a 1.5mm drill bit to allow you to use them straight away using your own wire or wick and wire whether that is for Micro coils or ordinary wicked coils.

The latest version is based on the original "Greigster`s Coil Buddy" but it is made from a solid block of Aluminium with a small storage area hidden below the end cap that can be used to store drill bits,wick and wire.

The end cap is fixed by a stainless steel bolt, which allows the cap to swivel and is held in the closed position by two magnets, one of which is inserted all the way through the cap thus making the top of the cap sufficiently magnetic to allow you to put your tweezers or coils on top whilst still hot to allow them to cool, (Its also useful for picking up that lost post screw or dropped coil)

To complete the Coiling Station, I have incorporated a 510 female threaded area on the flat side of the "Station" which will allow you to use your Coiling Station as an attie stand when you want to re-wick/coil.

The stainless steel bolts that hold the wire and the drill bit should move freely though could be stiff for the first couple of times used.

This is a must and a fantastic idea, gives you a spare free hand, top notch idea, so much easier when doing the threading of cotton and many other things

Hello Neil, could you make it able to take up to say a 2.5mm bit? To give a bit of scope in the coil diameter? Rather than try to drill it out myself and make a proper bollox of it !

Hi poochops
The larger hole nearest the bolt at the narrow end will take any drill bit up to 3.5mm then just nip it up with the bolt.
