Nope, this is the right section.

I know it's been done to death, and a mod along the lines of an available product is one thing, but pinching someone's logo and goodwill really pisses me off.

Neil is popular here, and I hope it never happens, but if FT started selling the identical thing with 'Greigster' on it, would you buy one?

I bet if you did you wouldn't publicise it.

So why is it acceptable to steal from a stranger but not someone you know?

It's never right to counterfeit or actively encourage it whether you know them or not. There is no other answer.

Many of us, myself included, fall prey to buying counterfeit from time to time. Call it a human weakness. I resisted it for a long time but gave in last month and bought a Nemesis and a Pulse-G clone. Did I really need them? Not really. I have plenty of mods enough to last me a good few years. Does not make me better. I really don't understand why the Chinese have to put the logo as that makes it not really a clone anymore. It's a counterfeit. It's not at all an acceptable thing to do. The original duo would have set me back approx £240.00 and I was never going to buy them at those prices.

I am sure those who bought the originals have a valid right to feel angered and those who thought up the design and manufactured it even more so. Nevertheless original mods could be more realistically priced than the overinflated prices and artificial demand culture that seems to be prevalent.

However, morally, I am in the wrong. No two ways about it.

I couldn't agree more maccafan  ....  my reasons for buying clones also include the fact that I am not prepared to spend that sort of money on something that I may not get on with. At this stage of my vaping journey, I am trying various clone RBAs and mechs, and there is simply no way I could afford to do this with originals. Perhaps I will someday buy a few originals once I know what works for me.

I am happy there is clones in a way, i tried and tested some and it pushed me towards buying genuine products from now on

At least this forum is adult enough to allow us to discuss clones and their various pros and cons ... Copycat manufacturing is a fact of life and has been for many years ...I totally disagree with the counterfeits that copy logos etc but if it wasn't for some of the clones knocking about I would probably have stuck with protanks and iClears... Maybe when financial circumstances improve and also that I get on with regular rebuilding then maybe I might buy the real thing ...
Until then it's clones all the way for me .... It's my only option right now ... But hopefully in the future I'll be able to put some money back into the coffers of those pioneering designers

The Chinese have been counterfeiting for years, some of their electrical goods are likely death traps, as shown on a television program. This is just one more added to their long list.
