Got a major problem, my Iatty will no longer work on the Provari, I just keep getting various error messages. A normal atty will work and the Iatty will work on my Riva battery so I'm totally confused. I did notice that the plastic on the top of the Iatty has melted through but for now, have managed to repair with some electrical tape (stops the wire touching the metal and shorting on the top connector wires) but it still refuses to work on the Provari! ??? Any suggestions most welcome

I had this problem also Dee.I was getting E1 and E2 error codes at one point.I sorted it by checking the coil and it turned out to be shorting because a couple of wraps of coil were touching creating a short.I hope you get it sorted and hope it is the same easy fix as i had.

Thanks Ian, I've made several coils and still getting the same problem. My wick is breaking in half also, so it could be that! I've only got enough wick left now to make 2 coils so I'm a bit boogered! LOL

The Provari has an electronic current limiter. It will only supply 12 watts AFAIK. Any more than this, it will display an error. Sounds like your coil resistance is too low. Like Ian says, it can happen if 2 of the turns are touching each other, or the end turns are touching something metal inside.
Try turning the voltage right down, and see what happens. Also try taking a resistance reading on the Provari. Anything less than 1.5ohms, and you need to keep the voltage down to 4v or so.

Thanks Clockworks, already done all of that! Nothing touching on the coils, 1.7ohms reading but when I come to use it gives the error immediately. I can't understand why it's reading the ohms but then giving the error message. I've tried altering the voltage but no difference

I'm as much use as a chocolate teapot on anything remotely technical as you know Dee . . . but I have ordered some wick on Tim's group buy so I'll happily pop a couple of metres in the post to you when I recieve it. You strand it down, and get lots that way for your metres . . . or something like that. But Tim does say it works an absolute treat on the Iatty.

I wonder if it's an intermittent contact - either on the coil wires to the terminals or the centre post to the battery connector? I've heard of something similar happening with a different attie on a Provari. I think that the Provari gets confused if the resistance (and hence the current) fluctuates, and shuts down to protect itself.
Try the "silver foil ball" trick on the battery connector, and doublecheck that the coil and no-res wires are secure by wiggling everything.

I really don't know, I've tried several atties and most of them aren't working on it, my 510's are working OK for the 901's with adaptor won't work nor will the duel coils ???

How odd Dee . . . is it worth dropping David at Provape an email I'm wondering? I get something similar on my SB, which I think is due to the contact post having dropped, but I'm not brave enough to poke about . . . the Iatty is quite heavy, so I wonder if it has caused the Provari post to sink a bit? * Am still poochless. *

Thanks Perps, Imeo I actually think it may be that juice as leaked from the Iatty into the Provari and that's what's causing the error messages. I've left it with the bottom off for a couple of days and it's now working with my dual coils which it wouldn't touch before. Can't try it with the Iatty until I get some wick, but have a feeling it should *fingers crossed* be OK. I've had too much going on here to do much about anything, things should be much easier after Tuesday next week

I thought provari was sealed from the liquid dee. Maybe the problem was something else?
