Just throwing an idea into the hat. Why does it have to be a pub? I did suggest contacting something like a British Legion club, who often have function rooms etc. OK, they might not be classy enough for some, but there must be hundreds of other types of clubs throughout London who would jump at the chance for extra revenue, and often in these places the beer is cheaper. I'll feel a bit silly going to a British Leigon Club in my penguin suit, bow tie and top hat MP

Dolly's right....but I don't think there's any in Central London.....as the rent would be so high.....a little further out but that extends some peoples travelling time. But they do have a bar and cheap prices.

Now trying to think of any other kinds of club in London with alcohol licence, and no, not THOSE kinds!!

Lol......travel links are the important part as people are traveling from all different directions. There's a great pub with function hall just round the corner from me.....but that's another 10mins North of the star of kings.

This is just my point of view, I do not think people mind a little walk from a tube station (lets face it the star was a way from station) as long as it's not in an unpleasant area, that's why i've not bothered looking locally as everything is a bus ride away from tube and that puts people off, especially if it's a strange area to them. If the one your looking at Alan is towards tower bridge from london bridge you can walk along the thames, we do that regular winter or summer as the views are still breathtaking even to a hardend londoner, but if your talking about walking south towards elephant and castle (which i'm sure is nice now) get a bit put off, badlands in the old days (to those from north of the river, ronnie kray said it was bad down there) lol last bit tongue in cheek. I still say Ritz or Dorchester, or if Liz out Buck house, or as an MP maybe palace of westminster (they got subsidised bar). Wonder why no one takes me serious ???? MP Ps Wheres JayLavEnts, not seen him recently at meets ?

Right by the thames, ideal, can wander down and sit bankside if bored of sweet smell, brilliant for summer, could have picnic outside on banks and then wander in for a drink or two, or three ohh go on then four then ohh go on then, dont leave your wallet there me old mate (sorry phil). It's about 10-15 mins pleasant walk from london bridge. Just my opinion, during the irregular months we in london in summer our regular thing is bus to london bridge walk to tower bridge (if we avoid the nicholsons pub in hayes wharf).

Is that the Draft House? I can't see on my mobile. If so, I went there for a beer at the end of October when we were looking for an alternative to the St Christopher's. The function rooms are in the basement, food looked good, beer was good, nice and clean. That's all I remember really as I wasn't really weighing everything up, just making sure I didn't forward the details of a hole.

It is but we ain't going there now as they have gone from cheap minimum spend in January too (The Draft House Tower Bridge South can help on the 22nd feb but there will be a £1500 minimum spend and a £150 deposit to confirm will this work for you?) so I have booked one just off Oxford street/Soho for Feb,full thread up soon
