The Sunday Times magazine has a 7-page article on e-cigs today. It's mainly centred around BAT and their move into e-cigs but overall it's pretty balanced and informative. You have to register to read the whole article but the first bit can be seen here

7 pages. That seems a lot. ![:o](//storage.proboards.com/2973975/images/V_yPuiwBICIqOziN7BjO.gif) I wonder just how far the tobacco companies will go in the market. It's all very well making a product offering to users, and we know there a millions of people content with getting around the ban etc, but almost every vaper I've spoken too has either a) given up on the idea (bad product, no satisfaction or not enough nicotine/puffs) or b) gone a-searching on the internet for help and advice. I wish tobacco companies every success in getting people interested in vaping (instead of smoking?). I'll also have a little chuckle to myself every time I see someone having a puff on an independently aquired eGo battery. Even my favourite e-cig company (not!) has been shelling out a fortune to increase their turnover from £40,000,000 to ? (more than £50,000,000) and in doing so is raising awareness but then losing customers hand over fist when they see 10 motives or Nicolites at half the price. Eventually, price will win. Just look at the popularity of cheaper brands of cigarettes. So, media is good, ads are good. The forums better be ready for the onslaught, because everybody seems to turn to the internet eventually and folk will only tolerate £6-£8 disposables and £3.99 cartomisers for so long.

For big tobacco I can easily understand why they are currently interested in the cig alike End of the market. It is after all the gateway through which almost all of us pass, some linger And a small number have been sneaking through a gap in the fence to better things. But overall the big money is still at the cig alike toll gate. Those of us that have already discovered the great view from the higher ground, look down And think it's because big tobacco simply don't get it, their accounts departments would beg to differ.
