Below are the various chips connectors and battery(s) I am planning on incorporating. If someone can help me decide how to attach everything it would help a lot. My email is readily available and I'm dying to get this thing started. Any help is appreciated!

================================================================ My apologies for the typed out links. I can't afford a computer so all I have is a nexus 7 tablet I got on sale last year. My tablet doesn't like the photo upload page for the site.
Thank You In Advanced for any and all help and/or advice!

Tenergy premium c 5000 mAh NiMH Rechargeable battery 1.2 volts
Found on all-battery.com
I am planning on having at least 2 of these in the mod. I have large hands and want a sturdy heavy mod. thanks again!

Hi Tiberius,
Why are you using NiMH batteries instead of Lithium ?
And how will you get higher voltage from a 1.2v battery ?
Hope these questions aren't too stupid.

Haven't decided yet. May make it out of wood. I love wood working. However if you know where I can browse some enclosures I would love to take a look through them or take suggestions on them.

Hi Tiberius, Why are you using NiMH batteries instead of Lithium ? And how will you get higher voltage from a 1.2v battery ? Hope these questions aren't too stupid. Nickel base batteries are easier for me to get imported. Lithium batteries are becoming more strictly regulated at the post so its simpler to use NiMH. Not sure on the higher voltage question. I know if I have two connected a certain way it adds the voltage together and if I connect them a different way it combines the mah. EXAMPLE First way = 1.2v + 1.2v =2.4v but mah stays the same 5000mAh Second way = 5000 + 5000 mah = 10000mAh but voltage is unchanged 1.2v Anyways most of this is still subject to change that's why I'm asking for help so suggestions are welcome! ?

NiMh batteries suffer from very large voltage drops when subjected to larger loads. With 4 x Nimh batteries in series, though theoretical voltage is 4.8-5 v, you will only get 3.5v under typical e-cig load in that configuration after the first couple of bursts and that will also rapidly decline. The VAMO circuit board will cut off at 2.8-3 volts input. So you need atleast 4 NiMH batteries in series to get started which will make your mod very very big and even that will not give you a satisfactory vape time, regardless of mAh. Two NiMH won't even power your Vamo circuit.
A couple of IMR is parallel will be much smaller with good capacity provided you have a decent safety system built in and you really know what you are doing. Else stick to a single Li ion configuration.

Thanks Mac you saved me money and wasted time! I would have been kinda put off if I screwed it up this early. Found some suitable safety circuits on all-battery.com any opinions on a 32650 3.7v 6000mAh li-ion? 32.75mm wide 70.40mm tall
By the way, I would only use one of these behemoths at a time. Lol

Are you sure you are not taking on more than you can handle? It's just the questions so far make me worry for your safety.

I am going to be using a safety circuit as soon as I discover the best one for the job. The whole point in this thread is to help in the design progress and augment my limited understanding to improve my abilities. I will not build it until the whole project has been worked out. However I am stubborn and it will be completed in the next 2 months. I do pay attention and learn very quickly. So right now the plan is 510 connection - looking for suitable ego/510 (I don't like adapters) 32650 3.7v battery - only 1 Vamo PCB - built in protection Safety circuit - added piece of mind Micro USB charge port with a usb 2.0 output port to charge my phone

Or you can buy above and a 510-ego adapter and the nut will fit the 510 part. www.stealthvape.co.uk/e-cigarette-accessories/ecig-adapters/510-ego-adapterIf you are using a single battery the Vamo circuit should provide adequate safety. However you might find that a 32mm diameter battery would make a wooden mod uncomfortable to hold due to the thickness of the wood. There are 26 and 22 mm batteries which are better suited as anything over 35 mm shorter width is quite uncomfortable even with big hands. For comparison, many box mods are around 25mm shorter width and take a flat Lipo sealed battery or a 18650. I am not too sure about this reason for adding a USB post for charging a phone. It would be better if you added a circuit to charge the battery within the mod. www.stealthvape.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=289Wiring would be basic: 1. A posi and negi wire from battery to Vamo board. 2. A posi and negi wire from charging circuit board to the battery if you decide to fit a charging board. 3. A posi and negi wire from Vamo output to the 510 connector. The hard part is making the enclosure so that you can open it easily enough to replenish the battery when it eventually gives up and enclosure ergonomics.

Anyone got an idea on were to look at some kind of large battery boxes? Not much bigger than the vtr should be perfect.
