One of the great things about vaping is how we all want and can get Something different. Personally I want to keep pushing the limits of my setup. I also like the change as the battery drains, it means a big smile Every time I load a fresh one. I am willing to accept the downside Which is having to cart around a good supply of fresh batteries.
I would never suggest the kick is redundant, just that there are other Ways to achieve similar results.

Precisely, we are all different with different requirements And for Chrisjw and his original post, if the kick you have is working properly then don't rely on the settings printed on the top- instead find out the resistance of your coil and work out what the voltage should be for the watts that you require and use a multimeter. When your voltage under load hits the required target then that's it- calibrated.

The other advantage with the kick is that you can swap between atties and still get similar results ... Sometimes I just want to bung on an Iclear with a different flavour with out having to cart around different mods ... But I do absolutely get the " build your coil to suit your power requirement " argument ... It's just that the kick adds a bit of versatility

I prefer vaping with a regulator than without. It also prevents undervolting which gives me a tad more piece of mind on the top of the consistency.
I start off using the pot markings as an approximation of wattage I want to b output and then fine tune it to taste and leave it. So I have no idea how many watts I am vaping at but I do know that every time it fires, I get a similar experience which suits my need for vapor, flavour and throat hit..
