My Tobacco Leaf

After a patient 4 week wait, I've just filled my first tank of self steeped tobacco leaf....a 50-50 mix of Burley & Virginia......This first attempt has been steeping in a 5% vodka & 100% pg solution......mixed at 20%, 70/30 pg/vg, 24mg, I have to say, it's rather nice.....a creamy, nutty taste to it with plenty of vapour.....after speaking to maccafan, I've made more up, but this time I'm steeping the leaf's in a nicotine/pg/vg mix at my normal percentage of 70/30, 24mg & this should be ready in a couple of weeks.....all in all, I'm well chuffed with it.......I should find out later today, if it's a wick clogger, but so far, so good........

I've had 2 tank fulls through the KFL so far & all is well........I can live with that............I only made up an initial 10ml so am waiting for the next 30ml to steep ( another week or so )

Here you go ginge7289.......This is the way I've done my first batch.........


Chop up 20-25g of leaf.
Put in steeping bag.
Fill container (mug) with 5% vodka + 100ml of pg & put bag in.
Leave for 24 hours, shaking periodically.
Boil container (mug) in saucepan full of water for 10 minutes.
Repeat 24 hours after.
Remove steeping bag & wrap in muslin.
Pour remaining juice into a bowl & squeeze muslin bag into bowl.
Pour juice through a coffee filter into jar.
I repeat this 2 or 3 times.
Transfer juice into bottles & steep as normal for minimum of one week.

After chatting with maccafan, I've now made up a second batch, using this alternative method, although it's still steeping, so haven't tried it yet.

Mix up 100ml nic base at 24mg strength, including 5% vodka.
Cut up 10-15 grammes of tobacco leaf.
Put leaf’s in a jar & pour in nic base.
Leave for approx 1 month, stirring gently, occasionally.


I will then transfer the liquid into a separate container, put the leaf’s into a steeping bag & follow the steps to squeeze out the remaining juice as in method one....This method means that the mix will be ready to use immediately, having steeped for a month.

* I have also used the leaf’s from method one a second time, by putting them into a second lot of pg/vodka at the same ratio......I’ve yet to discover if it has weakened it at all. I'm basically experimenting with various methods to see which is best & easiest.

Have Had Some Red Virginia Steeping in Inawera's 'Powersmoke' Base (50/50-ish, 36mg.) since the 18th (not 2 wks yet...) & Just HAD to Drip a Wick-ful after Giving the Jar a Stir/Squish! (Tobh RDA, Twin FT 2.4 Ohm NR/R Coils, Evod VW/VV @ 15W..)
...Great Stuff! Reminiscent of HofL's Virginia Prime with a Real-Man's Nico. Level!!! (Joking...It'll Get Knocked Down to 24mg.!) Delighted That This Steeping Lark's a Go-er as I've Never Mixed Before & Only Interested in Baccys Anyway.
Jar Now Stored Away & Have to Keep the Pipette Away From it So's I've Got Plenty for the Festivities Next Month!
