I completely agree with everyone. lobeydosser make it a new years resolution to to ask for all the kit you have lent back. Plus start charging them for the e-liquid you make First eliquid free, next charge lol. Mate at work bought 30ml of red astaire off me for tenner, sounded about right but didn't work out actual cost, cheaper than premix anyhow. Will mix some stuff for brother too but if he wants anymore he will have to pay!

Maybe I'll grow weary of sorting people out after a bit.

Giving vaping stuff away, causes me a bit of a quandary.
I don't mind helping folks out with stuff like classic car parts or camping gear that I will not need in the future, some of these parts are hard to find or just too costly to buy new and if I will never use it again then they are welcome to it for free, but vaping is different.
The people that vape are ex-smokers and vaping is a helluva lot cheaper than smoking, so anyone that vapes is automatically saving money by doing so.
The very idea that I spend my money to help them save money for themselves sounds a bit one sided to me.
Thanks for all the replies. I have decided that I will give all the help I can and all the information I can, but materially, they will have to seek that themselves. They must have the incentive of their own commitment.

Hmmm hard one. My OH is disabled and I earn just over the threshold for us to get any help so for me the outlay for my ego has crippled me lol. I'm addicted to nicotine so spending money from our stinkies budget on something that may not work is terrifying if I had a friend in real life who could have helped with a kit or liquid I would have snatched their hand off and been tres grateful. As it stands better hope I like lemon or vanilla lol.

Like many one of my incentives to start vaping was the cost of smoking, when I first found the forum I was using cigalikes and not saving much. I was very kindly offered kit by a forum member to start me off, though very grateful I didn't take them up on it as after receiving advice I found a way to keep my costs to an absolute minimum by buying boge cartomisers and using my existing batteries, I felt better doing that than accepting kit from someone who might have subsequently needed it for back up. I would have been mortified if I had damaged it. To me the advice I received was worth it's weight in gold. I have let interested friends tryout my ecig to see what it's like and then I point them in the direction of the sites I've used and this forum of course!

I know if any of my close friends were struggling financially, i would be happy to loan them something basic to see if it works for them. Assuming it does, then for basic kits and juice, the potential savings far outweigh the investment in a very short time. I hope you get on with your kit and your juices. PM your thoughts on the lemon and vanilla and I'll happily send you a couple of home brews I think you might like please don't take this offer as anything more than me taking an opportunity to pay back to the forum... I have received nothing but support from everyone here and this is a way to return that

So egos arrived today with the 18mg vanilla and the 18mg lemon. Charged em up and got some vanilla on the go, is ok not too sweet which was my worry. The best thing is that His Royal Highness wanted to try (after grumping that there wasnt any tobacco flavoured) and he really liked it. I have the lemon at the min, I was hoping it would be more sherbet lemon lol its odd tastes really lemony on the exhale. I really like the egos though lots of vapour and they feel nice in the hand so thats a bonus.
