PS3 has died

Very sad day today, playing BF4 and the game froze then the dreaded right light was flickering, I ejected the game quickly before it died completely.

I have another one which I can use, but have to start the game all over again..5 levels GRRR

The thing is, what does one do with old consoles, bury them, smash them up, try to salvage some workable parts (if there are any) sell it for scrap?

RLOD problem is fixable, atm I am volunteering for a small electronics business in Birmingham and the owner a very nice bloke deals a lot with ps's and xbox's and repairs them, all I would say is give him a call and see what he says, below is a link with the repairs services he offers.
