Most liekely the coil is to loose or too tight around the silica and thus not burning the wicked juice, or the wick is being strangled.

I heat mine to orange 4 or 5 times then light some juice on them, seems to stop that new metallic taste.

I always wash my hands before starting to recoil and torch silica beforehand to remove any contaminants .... it is surprising how easy it is to contaminate silica with oily residue from your hands.

Thanks,i made sure my hands were clean,i flamed the wire and wick before building and burned a few times before filling the tank.If it was too tight would it not affect it differently, maybe burnt taste?.It works fine and was rated at 2.2ohms when i tested it with a meter it's just that horrible new taste.

YorkshiremanAre you using a VV unit? Knock the the power back a touch as sometimes it's been known that new coils can taint if overheated at first.

If it is a kinda rubber taste it could be the legs of the wire burning the rubber inner bung, it goes after awhile:

YorkshiremanYup if it's rubbery, then Super-Shiny has called it right. What Head is it? either use res/non res wire in future, twist the legs or vape through it. PITA I know, but all part of life's rich tapestry.

It is kind of rubbery but usually doesn't last this long. After about 2 full tanks it should start to wear off, next time you take it apart you should see some burn lines on the rubber bung where the coil legs have been so you will then know what i mean. It does go just don't start putting a new bung in or your back to square one Vape through it
