Grrr.. locking nut stuck on sentry mod

How did you get the point of the pencil under the locking ring?

I got the impression he didn't want to dismantle it.

I didn't do it on a Sentry  ... in fact I have no experience of that particular mod.  I did it on a Nemesis and simply removed the locking ring and ran the pencil tip around the male threads on the tube.  Can the locking ring on the Sentry not be easily removed? If not, then surely it can be screwed down and up enough to be able to run the pencil around the male tube threads a bit at a time? BTW raid2506 I am not knocking your excellent suggestion to buy some graphite powder, simply stating that I used a similar (cheaper) approach to a similar problem using a graphite pencil.

Reckon it can be screwed down and back up again so graphite (from pencil) would end up on all threads so could do that way, easier to get hold off.

It may be dismantlable too, not tried yet though.
