Some of you will know that I have been trying to get my Brother into vaping to stop smoking for some time now. Had a letter today, he has not used the Sigelei I loaned him ( sending it back to me) because the Specialist at the heart Hospital told him to just 'cut down ' on the ciggies no need for him to stop, but he has to stop drinking alcohol! He has just had a heart operation for goodness sake.

You gave it a go, Phoenix ., sadly your bro will listen to the doc in this instance, as he said something that he liked to hear. Some specialist that he has on his case though, as that is quite incredible. ???

hi pheonix, i have had 3 heart attacks so far,the first in 2002. my cardiologist told me that although giving up smoking was the best that if the stress of quitting was too much i was better off smoking in terms of the risks. iI carried on smoking until January 2013 when i found vaping. Your brother will probably be like me and won't give up smoking until he is ready. All you can do is show him the alternatives, then its up to him.I know when i was smoking that although i knew all the reasons why i should stop smoking it made no difference. all the best

He can change his mind and you've planted the seed. When he is ready to stop, chances are he will turn to you for advice and a loan of your 'stick thing'

That's a pisser. It's easy for us fanatics to forget that vaping isn't for everyone. I know at least a dozen smokers who have tried ecigs and weren't impressed. For me, my first puff on a cigalike was enough for me to convert. For others, a whole day with a nem/kayfun won't be enough to convince them.

Reflecting on the Dr's attitude , the fact that my Brother is 75 has something to do with that, it isn't going to make any difference to the heart he has had repaired but, he has given up the alcohol which must be hard for him because of the culture in Spain, drinking wine at all times of the day. If the Dr had told him to stop smoking he would have done because this heath problem really scared him. Then again, I gave up nearly 2 yrs ago now and my health has improved with vaping and not smoking ciggies. It could add more years to his life, I am so scared for him now, feel so helpless so far away, but he has lived there 25yrs now.
