No, not for me but for a TZmax VV VW MOD
It has got a load of leaked juice inside it which I'd like to clear without opening it up.
Has anyone "bathed" an electronic mod in a Isopryl Alcohol Bath?
Will it FUBAR it?
TIA

Should be OK, I would try a quick rinse and blow dry (cold air) rather than a bath as it may soften adhesives etc. At your own risk as I have not done it, I would open it up to better target where the IPA goes myself. Good luck.

Not tried it Des but someone on here recently dropped a Vamo into the sea and dried it off ... It's probably a case of suck it and see I think. Let us know how you get along with it. (Good luck!)

Had a little google and some so do not soak a circuit board in Isopryl, but it all depends on what is on the circuit, those who have soaked it in Isopryl and used rice after to dry it out.
I myself cannot see the problem as it evaporates and dries to nothing, as long as it's left to dry long enough i can't see why not.

OK I'll give it a go when I get home on Sunday If you are going to do it give it two soaks, first one too dissolve the juice and rinse it out (big shake) or you will be just dissolving the juice and leaving it in a watered down state in the mod, second soak to give that final clean and then leave to dry. God luck and hope all turns out well.

I wouldn't soak unless rinsing several times didn't work, it's probably OK to soak but why take the risk of it penetrating layered bits like the screen.
Rather I would rinse several times, leave a few mins between rinses for dried up juice to soften. Then blow dry after final rinse with cold air (EG air bed pump, air duster would be ideal) or put in a net bag and swing round outside taking advantage of centrifugal force. Then leave in warm place over night, I doubt rice will help as its not humid.
The spray is great if you want to hit a small area or in difficult to reach position, but if you already have IPA you don't need it in this case.

I have a couple of tins of electronic cleaner two different types. I used one on Scalextric car and it started to melt the plastic :off the other was OK but I can't remember which one is which! I'll give it a quick rinse with the alcohol and not soak it. I think I'll have to be careful of the OLED screen.

No theory behind this, but i'd get one of those cans of compressed air and blast the f**k out of whole thing, can buy them in poundland now, worked on a flooded mod I had. But like I say no science about this just a desperate solution from an idiot lol.

Hi DiscoDes I wouldn't risk dropping your TZmax VV VW MOD into an Alcohol Bath as there is no telling how it will interact chemically with Resins (in circuit board), insulation, Rubber/plastic seals/gaskets. I would open it up and gently wipe with a soft lint free cloth.
