Hi there!
I've been vaping now for almost one month. This far, everything has been fine and dandy, except for one little problem that I thought that I might query about on this excelletn forum.
I started off with a so called miniciggy (a DSE-901) with prefilled cartomisers, which I've refilled successfully. I decided that cartomisers was my thing, and also ordered an elegant black generic 510 mini e-cig with dual coil cartomisers to go with it, and the other day I received my Riva 510 with LR cartomisers.
I’m impressed with the Riva, but I keep having this problem that I’m also having with the generic 510 mini e-cig model. I know that similar issues have been discussed on this and other forums, but I still really can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong. The thing is that I keep getting this burnt/plastic/chemical taste after a while on both the dual coil and the LR cartomisers. I’m filling them with the condo method, and as far as I understand, they’re certainly wet enough. The bad taste goes away as soon as I add a few more drops, but I don’t think I’m supposed to keep doing that constantly.
I’m never having the problem with the DSE-901 cartomisers though, which I bought prefilled, and has kept prefilling, not even when they’re in need of refilling. This makes me suspect that I’m doing something wrong the first time I’m filling the cartomisers
Thanks in advance for any help.

you do need to keep them wet,i find when i start a new carto it can take a couple of days to get it working right, dont be scared of over filling initially either, once filled just blow through to remove any excess juice

River is right Ebal. The first fill is the most important one with any cartomiser and if in doubt I tend to overfill it, let it rest, then blow it through onto a tissue. If you don't get it fully filled, you will leave dry pockets in it, which will stop the wicking process. As a general guide, for Boge Cartomisers, you should be able to get 30 drops (give or take a drop or two) into them. I usually put 18-20 in via the condom method, then top it up from the other end, then let it rest for a while (preferably overnight). Thicker liquids are a lot more awkward and I have been using the Griz Whiz for forcing the liquid down the cartomiser to good effect lately.

Agrees with River & Jason, you do need to keep cartomisers nice & wet.

I'm a mega heavy vaper so if I get one day out of a carto I'm happy....
I use what I think is the condom method for filling initially (please someone tell me if this is it or not). - take off the white bit - then put a few drops (about 80% of condom) full in condom - then put condom on where the white bit is (it gets a bit messy - not least if it spills) then tip upright and flick out the air bubbles...
Is that the condom method? I have seriously no idea...I just find it more accurate for filling cartos then anything else I've done of late...
Thanks for the input
