I am loving my new Titanide. Such a lovely smooth vape so far, but, have hit a problem over the last couple of days. I bought the matching Titanide tank to go on top, which uses the cartomisers inside. I bought a pack of four prepunched cartos. When I replaced a used one the other day, all I got was a nasty strong burnt taste. I decided being a mech mod, the only thing that could be wrong was the carto, so I put another new one in, but that one is also doing the same thing! I have tried it with a fully charged, half charged and low charged battery, but get the same result all the time.
Do you think I have just got a bad pack of cartos? I can't think what else it could be. I am going to order some new ones from Sadie, but as I have never used cartos until now, I am not sure if I can do anything to solve the issue.

Blownupdolly have you primed the carto with juice before putting it into the tank? If you are getting a burnt taste it sounds like the carto is dry and the coil has burnt the filler ... unfortunately once the filler is burnt, you are likely to continue getting the burnt taste even if you do fill the carto. Thank you @yinyang I guess it could be that. I haven't filled it myself, my husband has done it so far. He just does mine the same time he sorts his own mods out and I haven't been watching what he did. Saying that though, when I went to Cloud9 to pick all the stuff up, Lisa kindly set the whole thing up for me and I am pretty certain she didn't do that. Will give it a go though!

Bill Hi Mr Dolly here, yes I definitely primed, and is was left to sit for some time before it was used and tank was full. I think one was messed up because fluid level was too low and not seeping in through hole when upright. But the last 2 have been primed prior and allowed to sit prior to use. Many thanks for your rapid response, any further input or ideas will be greatly appreciated as we are shooting in the dark here as neither of us have much experience with carto's. Cheers Another Bill

Blownupdolly and puffingbilly - I hope I am not the cause of a marital dispute If the carto has been properly primed then I am stumped ... even if there was a problem with the size of the prepunched holes in the cartos, you should still get a decent vape from the juice that the carto was primed with. I myself occasionally use Boge cartos in a tank but I buy the ones that are not prepunched and punch them with a carto punch. As long as they are properly primed ,and the tank refilled before the juice gets too low I have never experienced this burnt taste problem. Sorry I can't be of any further help but I'm sure some carto expert will have the answer. Bill

( my nose just grew very long) Seriously though, what would be the advantages, if any, to buying our own hole punch over buying prepunched?

For when either punched not available or somebody selling of unpunched cheap. I made my own carto punch, all sharpe edges (never looked like that in my mind), its good though it can punch one hole in carto and 4 in me MP

Seriously although I have a shop bought one now, it galls me to pay £5-6 for something that can be made from some scrap metal and a good bolt (so £0.50 max) MP

Non-punched cartos are cheaper and you can tailor the number and size of the holes to suit your vape. For example if you chain vape at high voltage you will want to ensure that the coil is getting sufficient juice to keep up and so 2 largish holes would be the ticket whereas if you vape less frequently at lower volts, one smaller hole will prevent the carto flooding and gurgling.

Not sure what category I fit into. I vape depending on my mood. Sometimes chain vape other times I can go a couple of hours with nothing.
