Sweet idea boyofford I would put more cotton in the wells less chance of sloshing but still banging out a cloud. Where did you position the air holes on the single set up? I think in video I actually had all air holes open, with one set of holes next to coil. But still more than enough air using single hole, so ended up using.slightly closed single. I used to use more wool in drippers but found I was wasting to much juice re wicking. I actually use less wool than that when using vertical setup over drip well. Mines just arrived today (I was feeling left out) dinky little thing that will look great on my Caravela can't wait to have a go later, this is my first dripper so vertical or horizontal coils is the question.

With the way its been designed vertical is pretty easy in this compared to other drippers.... but you could do either or both as @tazmania441 says... might be hard getting them close in resistance though if one of each

Got it going of a fashion boyofford with 2 horizontal coils coming out at 1.4 ohms, I think that might be a little high, might have to have another go, it's going to be another learning curve but hopefully worth it as I like swapping juices at night so a dripper is ideal.

Not sure if you did this anyway but I usually make one coil, fix in dripper and test ohms before making another matching coil when working with new kanthal weight/diameter/leg length so can check I'm heading in right direction. I don't snap the ends of wire off either as can usually add a loop if need to up the ohms so nothing wasted. I'm getting better at guessing now though. If you can then heat the coil with a blowtorch before putting on dripper too... it a bit of a pain in the arse with vertical coils to compress to micro coil when on dripper, I used to do it until got my blowtorch and ruined a few perfectly good coils and had to start again! I swap and change all day, and combine random flavours... I once ended up with a mix of stuff in the a dripper that tasted like eccles cakes! Inculded stuff that shouldn't make that flavour... snakeoil, keylime, menthol, raspeberry from memory and god knows what else.

If you know the diameter of what you are using to wrap coils around, try this, linkjust enter the diameter, size of kantha,l how many wraps you want to use and it will tell you the final oHms number, very handy little program Here is a pic of what i used

Just make sure you have a battery that can cope if you go sub ohm smarties.

Some good tips there thanks boyofford jcol @tazmania441, I'm not planning on going sub ohm yet in fact I've got it on my nemmy with a kick in it at the mo, I've got the hang of micro coils in my russian so not too bad there, the taste is very good but not the vapour I was expecting, having said that it's my first dripper and first dual coil so can't complain, I do like the idea of being able to change juices. Will have to have a google as Todd or Rip Tripper or someone has probably done a vid on setting these things up and I love messing about with my rapidly growing selection of attys.

smarties dont forget that Rip Tripper tends to use 100% VG juice, so this will give out a lot more vapour than a eg. 70/30 juice. If you want to cloud chase, get a high VG juice, with half of your normal nictotine strength, and a wide bore drip tip. (the first time i done this, my usual 12mg blew my head off, now i use 6mg if i want to cloud chase) Then open it to the 3 holes, do a direct lung inhale and see what happens lol

I'm a 50/50 man myself (that sounds a bit wrong lol) jcol but I know what you mean from my russian I have to mix lower nic strength juices now or just end up sneezing and head spinning but I'll give that a try, just for research purposes you understand. I'm wondering if the coils are too low actually, should they be level with the airholes cos I've got them sat just over the juice wells and the wells full of cotton.

Low ohms and high vg will give you good vapour... but also having the coil above the eliquid so all sides are exposed and good airflow(not a problem in this but you need to line up airholes). The coil in my vid was 2.1ohms but still did produce good vapour considering, not sure if you could see in pics but had no wool in contact with outside of coil. I'm used to lower ohms, so bunged another coil opposite it to make it 1 ohm... but thats just my preference.... I'll probably put it back to my standard 0.7 dual vertical .25mm kanthal build shortly as prefer a quick stronger drag.
