first ever date with a girl that i have been talking to online, never done it before bit nervouse speak on the phone alot so i know its not a bloke or out haha, what are others peoples experience with "online dating" and do i wear the kfl+ on the svd or the vamo v3 with the nautalis haha

Seriously though, it's a brilliant documentary. The MTV show with the same guy isn't great so don't bother with that but his original online dating story worth a watch.

I got to know my husband online - that was 10 years ago - was also for me the first time - and the last time for online dating - and as Spikey said - she will be nervous too - just relax and enjoy the evening

If you watched the trailer on IMDB then it doesn't show the documentary for what it is. The ending is brilliant and shows that one person can live many different lives on the internet to try and have a life of their own.

I suspect that online dating is a bit like vaping - the media only publish the horror stories. People used to meet their partners at work, until political correctness made it almost impossible. Or at places like tennis clubs but people's lives are so busy these days they don't seem to 'belong' socially any more. I'm convinced that online friendships are much more common than any of us know. Good luck, I'm sure it will be just great!

online dating is supposed to be fun! i find gut instinct plays a huge part deciding whether to meet or not. one tip for the guys : be cheeky, not sleazy

Best advice I have:
Go in with the expectation of having a good time and nothing more.
Be yourself (obviously).
Don't be shocked if they have kept something from you.
Don't go straight to dinner, it can be a little team awkward, drinks are always nice to start off with.
Make jokes, preferably about yourself. If you can laugh at yourself, so can she, if she is laughing she is having a good time.
Flirt, it may sound obvious, but she clearly likes you, so make sure you flirt a little.

That's what I said to my other half when we were watching it. I have trouble remembering my date of birth and have even forgotten hers on occasion.

Fret not, its only like a blind date (but without a friend's recommendation..) I'll have you know my best mate has a lovely new man via an online dating site and another is now blissfully loved up, married and baby due to speed dating its just a modern form of 'getting together' and theres nowt to lose unless its a ladyboy!
