Anyone recommend a cheap blowtorch for coiling?

This thing just seems to work perfect every time so far, fill easily and adjusts nicely. I have the SVD too same as lenny but I still enjoy playing with the blow torch lol, especially when you start watching all the vids for all the different types of coils and wicks. It's the thing for the micro coils too, getting them totally snug.

+1 for the Dunelm jobby.

Been using mine for months now and its brilliant.

You may also find these very useful for microcoils!

Got some normal flat tweezers but just ordered some of these too...cheers bud.

No worries.

makes life so much easier not having to hold the tweezers closed whilst you heat the coil.. keeps a firm tension whilst the coil cools too..

best bit is no more burnt fingers.. gotta love wood grips!

Got quite a few reviews mentioning it failing, though guess for coiling wouldn't be extreme prolonged use so would do the job, have you tried it?

I bought one of them blow torch lighters things in Birkenhead today for 99p. Seriously, it's awesome, just done a dual coil build an it had my coils glowing in 2 seconds.

I tried to find one of them blow torch lighters last week but for some reason couldn't find one anywhere! used to be everywhere when I was a kid... bit gimmicky for cigs so guess fallen out of fashion.

Maybe my tweezers ain't long enough but was burning my fingers long before the coil got hot enough.

When I was doing coiling , I just used a candle flame hold the ends tightly and pass through the flame slowly both side. Simples and free!

I tried the gas hob technique again last night... worked ok, coil didn't get red hot as it does on device but just compressed it again on device after pulsing.

Only problem is my fingers feel bit delicate today.... might of cooked them slightly

i used to have  a couple of these they are great for coiling but i dropped 1 and i lost 1 you did well finding them as there is non of them left around here and i cant see them being made anymore

Couldn't find any about either at shops.. sure they used to be common when I was younger but never used much as burnt through  gas and I never bothered much with refillables.
