This scientific report looks to be quite interesting. Lots of reading with diagrams and graphs so you'd need to set a bit of time aside to read it. I've briefly looked through it and read the top part so far, need a large cuppa before I carry on reading lol Dr Farsalinos was involved in this report so should be good, and we know it will be accurate if he was involved. Here you go guys: www.nature.com/srep/2014/140226/srep04133/full/srep04133.htmlHappy reading

Gonna read.... Seems excellent. - - - One thing I already knew was that an evod kicks nicotine backside compared to Mr "we promise to give you 2 packs of cigarettes for £3.99" and his plastic sticks of bull.

In favour of anything but cig alikes Yay Yes, and we already knew by our own vaping experience/s that the newer generation e-cigs are far more efficient than the 1st generation devices. But it's good to actually see it proven in a scientific report. Interesting to note that it takes around 35 minutes of vaping to achieve the same level of nicotine in the bloodstream that one cigarette produces in a few minutes. Personal Revelation: So after vaping 35 minutes I've only had one fag (but without the other 4000 toxins), plus as I have reduced my nicotine level from 18mg to 13mg then I haven't even had one fag in that 35 minutes. I used to smoke 18mg fags before. Sounds good to me

this study supports the need for higher levels of nicotine-containing liquids (approximately 50?mg/ml) in order to deliver nicotine more effectively and approach the nicotine-delivery profile of tobacco cigarettes

I referred to a similar report from Smoking Canada in previous posts saying that on average a smoker gets 18ng/ml of nicotine in the bloodstream from a cigarette and that for the same number of puffs a vaper using 20mg liquid gets about 6ng/ml or 33% the nicotine of a tobacco cigarette. This is one of the reasons why Vype E-cigs are sold with around 40mg strength, to satify the nicotine cravings of a smoker. aliscampbell this is why it is often said if you only have a short time to get your nicotine "fix" to use a 36mg (or higher) liquid.

I dread to think when I failed miserably and emptied my pockets on corner shop lookalikes what the comparison of those crap things is to using a decent delivery system ie provari with a decent head or a mech mod firing up on a well built atty. The irony is, after 45 years smoking their filth I have found it easy even on 18 mg now 11-12mg.I can't help but come to the conclusion that this is all about money from selling crap but producing profit. By 2016 I am sure I will be free of this addiction but others wont have the choice I have had to attain cessation.

I think this is all good news. But, I am mystified. How does a smoker "get" 18mg from one cigarette that is rated by the tobacco company (on the box) as 1mg? I read the ECTA Canada report and it all made sense. 25 puffs on an evod (36mg) was 5.2mg YIELD. 30 puffs on 3 cigarettes rated at 1.0mg is 3mg (give or take the personal smoking style). HELP!

HELP! djs WELL SPOTTTED! I have changed my post and re-read the report it expresses the results as ng (nano grams) of Nicotine per ml blood, not mg (Milligrams). Here's a part extract: "one tobacco cigarette in 5 minutes led to an increase in plasma nicotine levels from 2.10?ng/ml to 18.80?ng/ml. Projection of the findings by Vansickel et al to our data is displayed in Figure 4. After 5 minutes of EC use, plasma nicotine levels were substantially lower compared to smoking one tobacco cigarette (almost 3-fold lower compared to new- and 4-fold lower compared to first-generation device). Plasma nicotine levels were equal between tobacco cigarette use at 5 minutes and new generation EC device at 35 minutes"

It's mostly Greek to me DiscoDes , but I always feel better when you are around. All I know is that peak plasma levels will basically never reach that of a ciggy. We are all maintaining a lower level than smoking, but keeping topped up enough to stay off the fags.

This made me laugh, as long as you are happy with your vaping then it's all good. I think the report highlights why the EC are bonkers and may also help us newbie vapers find a satisfying vape....till the changes anyway.

And that's the Nicoteine of which we care not a jot about in regards to health, or I should say ill health, it's all the other chemicals that we don't get that matter.
