A premade unflavoured mix is fine to start with to give you confidence. Don't forget you need to go up a bit on the nic to allow for the concentrate to dilute. It is however much cheaper and more adjustable to use high nic (72mg) pg and vg when you are ready.

lets say it like this: I enjoy vaping on my VTR on an iclear30s. If I was buying ready made, I'd be weeping., its so eliquid hungry?!?! - I go through at least 8 ml (3 refills) per day. If I was buying ready made juice, I'd be demented!
When I vape on my protanks, its a third of that - daily usage. So yes, I would freak out! at costing! JJ or not ..(he's probably the cheapest supplier?) but I wouldn't be happy. Now I make up my own its closer to 50p - 80 pence per day. and yes 20pence DOES matter - over a year in costing. says me buying all sorts of gear/concentrates/tanks/mods <<oh the irony!

Ok so if you go for 15% it's a straight 15ml of concentrate, or if your making a single flavour you could make 200ml and then it's 2x10ml concentrate bottles. No measuring for that bit.
You can buy 18mg unflavoured but it will be a bit more expensive than mixing your own. So if you start with 72mg nic base your recipe will be
21ml nic base 35ml PG 39ml VG 15ml flavour concentrate.
That's all rounded to the nearest ml but will work just fine.
Nic base is about 11.50 for 100ml but at this strength you would end up with 500ml juice from that, VG is 1.30 for 200ml from boots, PG is about £8 per litre and concentrates are around 3.50 for 10 ml so your 100ml would cost:
Nic base £2.30 PG. £0.25 VG. £0.20 Flavouring£5.25
So total cost will be roughly £7.80 per 100ml

Oh wow thanks Eric! That has totally blown my mind, will have to retread several times to make sense lol that works out not too bad in the long run. I am now into bdc and they are rapidly eating away the juice with me and the other half go through it

Just think on it as a normal 10ml bottle that's a couple of quid usually is only 80p if you make it yourself

Its not always about the cost (sidesteps my mingy tight mean side) I think it's liberating to be able to alter your nicotine strength and pg/vg ratio within minutes. and make up juice to suit every occasion

Well that is what I was thinking, if I can get the base mixing right then just add different flavours and make some mixes

I have 4 mixes I love, and they are my staples, but now I have all the equipment, I can mess about trying new flavours and combinations - safe in the knowledge I've my regular flavours mixed up ready (in bucket amounts!)
