honestly its not that hard and if you muck it up it don't matter as the tv will hide it any hows if you have to get someone else to do (bung him a 20 and he should do it with a smile 10 if you think you can get away wiff it only 30 mins work )

Oh for gawwwwds sake. I'm getting scared now! LOL.... I might go see if I can flutter my eyelashes at one of the electricians fitting the place out. Bung him a few quid. At least he will know where the wires are seeing as he just fitted them! Now that sounds like a fantastic idea to me.

Play on the safe side Dolly and ask the sparky to do it for you, cheaper and at least you know it won't fall down, or you could just ask him for his opinion of where to place the tv even if it means adding a new TV connection to have it on the other wall, he will have the gadget that finds any other electric wiring that is in the walls. There have been too many accidents with peoples tv falling off the wall, think of the expense of that happening? Wish I could be with you when you finally sign the papers tomorrow, I can just imagine the big smile on your face and the excitement in your eyes.

If you are set on the plasterboard wall use plasterboard fixings and screw a piece of wood onto the wall, large enough for the tv bracket and small enough to be hidden behind the tv,screw the tv bracket onto the wood and it will not move.

My set up 42" Panasonic Plasma (heavy): I buried some trunking in the wall when I redecorated, so no wires!
