if you guys are worried about overcharging ect, just stick em on and after the first charge of your batteries and it reads on the display 4.2v and the status has stopped moving then that means there fully charged to 4.2v and you dont need to check those batteries again as they work with the charger correctly you dont have to do this all the time just when you first get the charger to see if it has the overcharging bug but i shit you not, i have not had a single overcharge issue on the device i have and i have charged up loads of batts various sizes and makes.

Thing is the max it'll read is 4.2 only a multimeter or tankometer will tell you different if it is over charging... That's only what I've read to be fair. Sure it will be fine, I'm still getting one and doubt my cheap tacky charger is doing a better job anyhow, it refuses to fully charge my two pannasonic 3400mah maxing out at 4.1v

I found this site last night. Here is the test results and review of this latest version. He rates it as a "good charger", which is far better than he rates the nitecore i4 and i2 chargers, but not as high as he rates other chargers.

I have been seriously thinking about that one myself Perps but I am not so keen on the idea of having to use spacers with the shorter batteries

That's why we need the Luc and a Pila @yinyang. Very true Perps . I've had my Pila for 2 years at least now and it still works quickly and flawlessly and I use it all the time. I've got the nitecore as well which is also fine, but would go for the Luc as a second charger now if I needed another one. I really don't need 3 chargers though! You get some screw in spacers with the Pila which work for 18500's, but you do need extra spacers for 18350's. Personally I don't find this a problem as you get a good solid contact and on the plus side, no springs to wear out. I regularly check my batteries when they come off charge anyway - it gives an indication of the health of the battery too.

I have had a Pila for a couple of months and am very pleased with it. It now comes with 4 spacers so will charge all sizes. I prefer the spacers for the same reason as dave.

think that's fixed with the v2 though? i can assure you 2 of the chargers i have had to change the ic on have been the v2 but saying that i remember fixing sony playstation 2s that were 1 day old and xbox 360s that were 2 days old I shall stick with my nitecore in that case, does the job but shows reading via no of lights instead of actual voltage.

My Pila charger arrived today from C9V and I am very impressed. Solid build quality, 3 different clip on plugs (UK, Euro and US), 4 screw in spacers allowing all battery sizes, detailed instructions and great packaging. The thing oozes quality and you just know that it will outlast other cheaper chargers. The four-stage charging process is reckoned to be the best for prolonging the life of your batteries and the couple of AW 18490 IMRs that I have just charged both measured at exactly 4.19 volts, so spot on. Highly recommended.

That's good news. The Pila charger has been around long enough to prove itself and deserves it's reputation.
