Hi, I have two part filled ready mixed unflavoured nic base bottles - trying to have a tidy up of my work space and want to combine them, but I haven't a hope in hell to know what the result will be nic wise!!
I have 85 ml of 18mg unflavoured nic.
and
19 ml of 36 mg unflavoured nic.
If I mix them together what mg nic will I achieve? Or would it be best to ad 50/50 pg/vg to the 36mg bottle to dilute it to 18mg and then just mix the two together achieving just over 100 ml of 18mg nic unflavoured base? I would rather have a higher mg nic though in order to add flavour when I want to make up a quick 10ml bottle. Confused? I certainly am!!

If you add 85ml of 18mg/ml to 19ml of 36mg/ml you'll end up with 104ml of 21.3mg/ml

The amount of nicotine in your 18mg/ml bottle is 18mg/ml X 85ml = 1530mg The amount of nicotine in your 36mg/ml bottle is 36mg/ml X 19ml = 684mg Combined this is (1530mg + 684mg) = 2214mg nicotine You'll also end up with a total volume of (85ml + 19ml) = 104ml, so the strength combined would be 2214mg / 104ml = 21.288 mg/ml There's also a handy tool in EJMU called 'nic combine', that'll do the calculation for you. (The Ejuice Me UP calculator can be downloaded here, and the 'nic combine' tool is under 'tools' in the toolbar)

One more question. Now I have my 104 ml bottle of 21.3 mg nic base, how much more nic should I add to make it 24mg.(my nic base is 72mg). Just need it a little stronger so when I add concentrate I get a result of around 18mg in my 10ml bottle. i.e 8ml of 24mg nic base + 2 ml of concentrate to make a 10ml bottle of approx 18mg flavour.

Using trial and error with the nic combine tool of EJMU: 104ml of 21.3mg/ml nic + 6ml of 72mg/ml nic gives 110ml of 24.1mg/ml nic base and ----> 8ml of 24.1mg/ml + 2ml of concentrate gives 19.3 mg/ml e-liquid----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If however you were to make up 22.7mg/ml nic base: 104ml of 21.3mg/ml nic + 3ml of 72mg/ml nic gives 110ml of 22.7mg/ml nic base ----> 8ml of 22.7mg/ml + 2ml of concentrate gives 18.2 mg/ml e-liquid

Splendid Postmodern Smoking, a great help. By way of explanation of my inability to do even fairly simple maths and to use the EJMU tool, is that I am 71, three months and thirteen days old.(to be precise!) and school was a long time ago and even then maths was not a good subject for me. Old age has not helped that. I am reasonably efficient with the computer, but down loading stuff is not for me. I generally use the simple mix calc at the top of this forum which suits me fine for simple mixes. So your help on my above enquiries is much appreciated.

Near as damn it add 2.5ml of 72mg/ml to your 104ml.
This will give you a base of 22.5mg/ml
When you add 2ml flavouring to 8ml new base you will get 18mg/ml strength near as damn it.
To check above... 104 x 21.2 = 2215.2 2.5 x 72 = 180 2215.2+180 = 2395.2 2395.2/(104 + 2.5) = 22.5 ( to one decimal place)
Now 8ml of 22.5 = 180ml final mix after adding flavour is 10ml so 180/10 = 18mg/ml. Job done.
