Title says it all really. I now have a reasonable collection of clearos and am looking to put them together with some coils and juice to get family members and friends on the vaping journey. My only problem is batteries. If anyone has any spare ego/Evod batteries that they are willing to part with for nominal amounts, these would be of great use to me in putting together kits to give out to people I know. All sizes are appropriate. Many of them are still blinded by smoking and think the costs of starting up are too much for ecigs - this will hopefully provide them with a free ECIG and a chance for them to try it and decide whether they like it before parting with any of their cash that they will otherwise continue to waste on cigarettes. I am also looking for anyone with spinners/twists that they no longer use to use for myself. Thanks for looking

Whilst I applaud your attitude towards you family members, like anything, smoking related, I have found that there has to be an ulterior motive to make people want to try to change and giving people free hand-outs is not going to give them the incentive to give Vaping an honest try.
I started by using a cut price cig-a-like that cost me the equivalent of one days cigarette money. That was enough to give me a small incentive. When that worked for a month, albeit buying ejuice and refilling it, I then splashed out on a 60 quid Ego Kit and that was enough money spent to make darned sure that I really gave the whole system a darned good try.
I don't think I would have given Vaping a proper go if I had been given an e-cig. It takes time before one becomes aware of the other benefits of Vaping IE Health, Cleaner Environment, greater freedom to use them in places where smoking is banned.
Personally I think that just vaping and being content and clearly enjoying the experience is the very best advert for Vaping that there is. In otherwords when others see for themselves that Vaping is working for you, then they will want what you have and make their own commitment to try and get what you have. If that costs them a little, so much the better.

@lobeydoser I agree completely. Many of them are stubborn, however some not so much. Some of them are actually quite receptive to the idea of switching to vaping - my thinking is if I can get a few of the less reluctant family members to give it a go it's an even better advert than just myself. I genuinely feel there are quite a few who are ready to come away from smoking, friends also. It's just giving them that final little nudge for me it seems worth a go if me spending a few quid provides them with that chance. Them spending the money seems to be the last hurdle for a good few of them, they are receptive to it otherwise... so if I kinda carry them over that hurdle then it's up to them whether they walk or run the rest of the race.

Less than £2.50 a pop if you can cope with the wait

If Vaping was exactly the same as Smoking, same taste, same kick, same sensation, same everything, then yes, by all means let others try it and hope that they will see the benefits right away and save themselves a fortune, but unfortunately it is not. It does come close, but it ain't quite there yet and until it does press all the buttons the way a ciggy does, getting people to give up their favourite bad habit for some new fangled electronic substitute will take more than the act of a generous relative.
People need a reason to want to change. It may be, "To get rid of this hacking cough". It may be, "So that I can have a puff when and where I canny smoke". It may be, "So that I can have one indoors and not harm others". There are a multitude of reasons to give Vaping a go, but it will still mean some commitment other than "just seeing if I could stop smoking and start vaping". We cannot buy or give commitment. That has to come from within and the bigger the reason, the more likely they are to succeed.
The best of luck and do let us know how many converts you get!!!

Absolutely mate, I understand where you are coming from. The potentials I am talking about are giving some of the very reasons you list, hence my optimism. I have a baby on the way which is why I made the switch - a big incentive to do so and therefore an easy change for me to make. Before the baby news I had tried ego setups several times and I knew it worked for me, but I stubbornly chose to smoke instead for a further year. It's a very powerful addiction, psychological as well as physical. Most smokers I know will continue to believe that analogs are somehow safer than electronics, generally it seems to me that an addiction of any nature brings about cognitive dissonance of some kind, and having been there I can relate a lot! I know for me though when I was ready to make that change there was no looking back... hopefully because the people in question are actually seeing the benefits I get from vaping instead of smoking, asking questions and finding reasons to make the switch themselves they are nearly at that point aswell. It's a strange thing to witness, they have have to really justify it to themselves to overcome the grip cigarettes have on them, even the idea of using both and cutting down is a hard challenge for most smokers I know. My mum looks set to be the first convert though, shes a 20 a day smoker. Knowing how addicted I was and how much I had struggled to stop over my 10 years of smoking, she is really on board with the idea. She doesnt even need the freebie, I am ordering her Evod kit with her at the weekend so that when she comes back from her holiday in about 3 weeks, she can have it ready to switch to. Hope she manages straight away but we'll see. She has used quite a bit of my equipment and has taken to it very well. Even if she dual fuels for a while I am counting her as the first hopefully more to follow though!

Congratulations on "the one on the way!". As you say, a good reason to switch.
I was a 40 super king a day man and my eventual change from dual smoking/vaping came at 9pm on a night when I ran out of fags and although the shop across the village green was still open and I could see its lights from my window, I could only just see them as the rain was chucking it down and I didn't fancy getting wet, knowing that I had plenty of ejuice and charged egos. That was the night I went 100% vaping.
Although I have bought a lot of vaping stuff since then (£2000 worth) I have also bought a Caravan (older model) and equipped it with £1500 of gear. All on money saved from smoking. By the time we head off on the first of a series of trips next month, I will also have saved enough to pay for all our site fees until the end of the year.
If I had not stopped smoking and started vaping, we would have had no holidays this year, again!

And congratulations to you for kicking 40 a day! I was a 15 a day man, that was hard enough so I can imagine how hard stoppin 40 a day would be. And congratulations on your savings! I am saving my old smoking money for a bell tent and kitting it out with a stove etc. The amount I'm saving is crazy. That seems to be a big big incentive for many smokers to switch. With the likes of regal, Marlboro and benson gold smokers at nearly £10 a packet people don't want to spend that kind of money anymore. On 40 a day, a weeks smoking fund could buy enough juice and gear to last you a couple months if spent right! Best of luck on your caravan adventures

Aside from egos for me to hand out, I am still looking for twists/spinners for myself if anyone has old ones they are happy to part with

Thanks moodysuz , for ego/evods I was hoping to pay less than that I'm afraid as they won't be used by myself. Would happily pay that for used spinners/twists but as I am not using the ego types for myself I can't really justify spending that much when I have a good few that work. Thanks for the offer though
