I know I shouldn't laugh, but at 48 seconds, it does appear that someone can't control the angel of the ferry & headbutts the pillar  I hope she was ok. |

I've been on the Shetland ferry many times and can safely say that's not one of them. That's onboard a cruise ship called Pacific Sun during a tropical storm.

It made news at the time. Over 40 passengers injured, broken arms, legs, one with a broken pelvis.
I've worked at sea most of my life and the video really doesn't show just how violent the motion of the ship would have been. Nobody is having a good time or fun in a situation like that. Crew tend to be ok most of the time as they are used to bad weather but for passengers with no proper sea experience it's extremely dangerous and in no way the entertaining experience some people think it would be.

ROLLERSKATES  and smiling for the camera too. Shame there was no sound on the CCTV because I'd be left>right>left>right>backwards>forwards>left>right screaming "WEEEEEEEEEE!" at the top of my lungs. The broken pelvis person was probably the bloke in the black & white striped top that was just sliding from stage right to stage left (and back again) .... oops |
