Got mine middle of last week, built late Friday after a soapy clean. 2mm dia coil (at around 1.8ohms) and cotton wick similar to how I would build my Kayfuns.
Vaped pretty well and I went to be happy leaving it half full of juice on my Chi You clone with VW kick. Woke Saturday morning, usual weekend breakfast, then coffee, internet newspapers and a little vape, less juice in it than I though I had left and it was a little gurgley. Before finishing my coffee I had a wet sticky hand smelling of raspberry(!)
Stripped the Chi You down and found juice running through into the kick and down the side of the battery. After lots of swearing and several sheets of kitchen roll had everything clean and tried again with less cotton.
Gurgles again and more mess. Searched google for advice that seems to have worked so:
Leaking seems to be entirely down to the wicking on this one - luckily you can play with your coils and wicks without draining the tank. I replaced the wick and ran the new one about halfway down the vertical channels basically blocking them off (the total opposite to the Kayfun) screwed it back together and tried again. No gurgling, no dry hits, no leaks, nice flavour and good vape.
So, forget what you learnt in building your Kayfun and block the channels with your wick. Hard and fast is not the way to draw on this one - slow and steady seems better. Try to find a way of clearing the airway as much as possible - on my Nemmy clone I find the best way is to adjust your centre pin up so that when you screw the Squape down you are not completely flush against the top of the mod - too tight a draw and you will get gurgle and leaks.
Overall I like it :
Pros: Easy to coil and wick. Nice that you can change coil/wick without draining. Holds loads of juice. Good vape. Feels solid and well made. Looks pretty neat.
Cons: Caused two of the biggest leaks I've ever had and because the leak was inside the 510 connection by the time you realise it's way too late. It's really heavy. Drawing air through the top of the 510 can be a bit hit and miss if you don't set it right. Drip tip is a bit naff.
Apologies for the length of post but thought it may be useful if anyone else is struggling with this one. If anyone needs pics or further advice give me a shout.
Cheers, David.

Interesting - I find I don't need to bring the wick down the vertical channels but I did try it with too little cotton and, yup, half way down and the biggest leak I've seen (I'd never put a Squape on a hybrid). Saying that, I notice you, fiddles have the wick a little below the horizontal channel but wide on the vertical. This is how I do mine (forgive the orientation, rushing) Looks like we have two viable paths.

As long as it works tomj777 then that's all that matters. This is how I done my wick first time I got it & it worked, so haven't tried any variations to it

Now I have a consistent way of building it (well, twice isn't a sample) it will be good to find a second... and to determine which build works best for me (the eternal hunt for the perfect vape).... One thing I've noted - they don't half drink the juice... which might be why the flavour is so very good.

That 'emetal' that SQ use on the genuine Squape, what's the replacement like on the clone? It doesn't have any brass or other nasty shit under it does it?
(Don't go scraping your Squape to find out, ooer missus)

(Don't go scraping your Squape to find out, ooer missus) The original FT base had nasty soft steel screws, but this is something one has to deal with at times). - FT replacement base was fine and steel of a reasonable mix. The tank was certainly a good steel (304 or better). Still awaiting my Focalecig Squape (arrived in the UK on the 18th...) I reckons it will be okay.

Well, I received mine on Saturday. Not quite on par with the fixed FT one - the 510 connector threading is poor, I think, leading to a nasty wobble and risk of cross threading (so I will not be using it on a copper mech mod). Other than that, and a little machining gunk beneath one of the posts, it's good.

it should smell of oil too! Surprisingly little oil. Isopropyl as standard, though. oh... One little observation I forgot... The air holes are just a little larger. No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted

tomj777 , My guess is you have air leaking in for it to do that. Check the O ring on the chimney seals and also the glass tank is sealed.

Absolutely right (I suspect)... Came back from Mid Wales to find that.... O-ring likely. Wick come adrift from a horizontal channel also possible.
