Question on Mom & Pops Blueberry Cheesecake colour - does this look right? So... Having been oh so busy and then the inevitable (but much delayed) dark period, I'm functional and finally mixed a long overdue batch Chefs Jungle Juice 80 26% Chefs Key Lime Pie 50 10% Chefs Lemon Cocconut Cream Cake 80 20% Chefs Lemon Drizzle Cake 30 20% Chefs Mince Pie 30 15% Darkstar Apple Pie Custard 30 18% FA Aurora 50 3% FA Dark Vapour 100 4% FA Golden Rollie 100 4% FA Ozark's Sweet Leaf 50 4% FA SOHO 100 4% FA Virginia 100 4% M&P Blueberry Cheesecake 30 20%(So much for using a monospaced font... Proboard truncates multiple space characters to two space characters. Humph) That's 830ml of eliquid split across 14 bottles. zzzzz

Android: If you can find a way to get it (for heavens sake scan it), Tapatalk Pro (no longer on Play - I think that is the case for those who bought it as well) was the pay version which didn't include ads (the idea was you bought it and permanently gained an ad-free environment. Whilst they need to make money and their pay-once business model was never going to be sustainable, I couldn't help feel bitter when they did this. The irony for me was that I always went to a lot of effort on my smartphones (starting with root privs) to remove / block ads and associated battery drain (but always paid where the option existed)- my Note 4 is my first without root and thus I'll (unless they've introduced an ad-free option) be stuck with my old version forever....

Of course, there is one way to ensure no spying....
Never ever connect it to the outside world (and that may mean opening a laptop up and removing the WiFi antenna).
Oh - and that chicken wire thing to deal with those sly Van Ech phreakers

I'll have a lot to learn when I do that... short of putting a distro onto a USB stick to peak at, I've not used any 'Nix variant for at least 18 years. Mind you, I can still remember a few vi commands (do I really want to go back there.....)
Eeek - just thought - vi and dyslexia will most certainly not play nice together.

I keep meaning to set up my system to dual build and use Windows for gaming only. About time I picked up another new skill... My 'nix skills are all a bit rusty and prefixed with either a U (various) or <ahem> Xe

There's a few things you can do beyond the obvious opt-outs, such as stopping some of the telemetry services (for instance the Diagnositic Tracking Service ("diagtrack") and then changing it's start up command... But Microsoft is sneaky and will introduce new services and re-enable through updates... So a powershell script at start up might be good.
Regarding data sucking need to find a way to redirect text files into Microsoft products - you know, nice big ones like the Bible, OED, the Quaran, War and Peace, Anarchists Cookbo..... through the keyboard into another microsoft product..... Seed Google and other tracking organisations with random search strings (easier under Linux) / data.
Not that this will truly help... Tor is your friend, ideally through a VPN, whilst performing drive by open wifi hunting (was that called "Wardriving"?) and for heavens sake, work out a way of hacking your MAC addresses and spoof your IMIE numbers (illegal).
More extreme paths are to turn off various tracking features on your mobile (removing battery probably also makes sense when not in use)
Next step is to move entirely off grid, wrap your house in chicken wire and avoid any processed food (due to the `smart water` type nano-RFID chips you consume)...
I agree with Linux, though - it does reduce the amount of specifically Microsoft snooping (oft eliminating).
For truly secure on-line communications, use a combination of open forums and 1time pads.

Happy Birthday, Perpetua Rest assured that in perpetuity you will only celebrate the current birth year in future years Oh, I was being expedient for the sake of humour, rather than being precise, for you can elect to reset to 21 next year and then count backward, ensuring that you are perpetually becoming younger. And now I become unstuck, for in 22 years time you would reach zero and be stuck there for... Oh wait... I know... you could start counting birthdays on a perpendicular axis (bugger, I've lost at my own word game). Happy Birthday once again, Mandy.

I join the throng which welcomes your return, Helen. You've been missed. Stay true to yourself regarding the work politics (i.e. don't demean yourself by playing that game). Also sorry about the shop closing but very very pleased Andy's been there for you.

Thank you all. It's been a pretty good if completely off plan and frantically busy kind of day. I thought you folks might want to see my fav pressies... An explanation of items in the picture ... A rather fine shaving brush from Mum - (for 75% of my adult life I've been bearded and the rest has been shaved with an electric razor... I left the razor behind at Mum's (who posted it back, but I was away elsewhere for another week) so I picked up some not so cheap eco-kill cartridges, gunk in a can and made do... Quite liked it (haven't used the electric since)... me being me, I wasn't satisfied and at the start of this year I bought a DE Safety Razor and started inhabiting another forum to learn... I now seem to be acquiring another form of shiny as well as ours and becoming a bit of an exper.... Because I'm not in a position to undertake non-voluntary work, my father has bought me a course on medieval history As I really enjoyed the `making of` drama over Christmas, my wife bought me Dad's Army (complete bar the lost episodes of season 2)... And I received this birthday card which I reckon you might all enjoy. The underlying jigsaw is an antidote (for I've overdone it rather with one of my voluntary works and it's quite a good therapeutic / calming / centring activity - today is a good day, btw). Hmmm - Dorset Blue Vinney (Thanks eldest little sis)

Prone to deep lows (oddly they come hardest and most frequently outside of the winter months) I find music a great help and at times not in a way that makes sense (who ever would have thought Lou Reed's Berlin could provide succour during the dire moments). One band that does `make sense`as a pick-me-up is the music of The Penguin Cafe Orchestra I often have ambient music playing in the background when alone (perhaps more than a habit than a help but it's pleasant nonetheless). Half an hour or so ago I stumbled upon this chap who holds the account The Quietist on Soundcloud from his signature on a shaving forum (here's me, forty seven and thirty one thirty twoths years old and I discovered wet shaving a month ago and just made the leap to DE) ps I found something strangely satisfying about writing my age like that.

Thought long and hard... Decided Police Truck wasn't right for today, Cockney Rejects' Police Car was a bit too NWS at the beginning and couldn't quite bring myself to add Charles Penrose into the mix so cast the bones and pick Wolfmother Joker and the Thief I love the combination of different sources you can here in this track - actually the entire Wolfmother album was pretty darn good.
