vigowomble Cheers for saying she was a contestant on the apprentice show. I thought I recognise her from somewhere. I got the info about her being on big brother from info button on tv and since I don't watch tripe I couldn't quite place her. What year was she on the apprentice? Having said that I don't watch tripe, I just spent an hour watching this show.

I think it was 2013 stamina. She really did come across as an obnoxious cow, as I said I'm certainly not a fan of hers. But I think she's earned a million out of her business, so not dumb.

I emailed the show this this morning and was told id get a call back from the team...did i hell
I am one of the early adopters of the ecig, i started using them back in 2008 when it was just a handful of brits trying out this new tech. I said on the forums back then that when these things get popular (which they have) the government will seek to ban them. Not because of any proven science or health concerns because all international studies on them to date have proven them to be as safe as cafffiene, but strictly on lose of revenue. The annual nhs bill for smoking related diseases is estimated at £5 billion annually and the tax generated from tobacco sales is £11 billion, £6 billion is a lot of cash to lose. As for banning in public spaces, what rubbish, whatever happened to manners. I never use mine around people eating or enclosed spaces, not because of second hand vapour concerns ( because again thats been proven harmless) but its just manners. Pubs, restaraunts , shops and cafes should be able to set their own policies on ecig use on their premises and not require a law to force those policies on them.
Disappointing on the very short slot.

Looking at this program ( and others ) another way, if you were a smoker, considering trying an ecig - would this programme have sparked your interest enough to go out and buy one?
We all view them with the benefit of actual experience and know what a load of carp is very often talked, but if you had zero knowledge would it encourage or discourage you to try one?

"if we (govt, media, whoever) show a bunch of twaddle spouted by supposed "experts" that they're soooo bad, then no-one will go seek out trying them and the whole thing will die a slow withering death, job done" virtually everyone I know who's switched since I did has been through word of mouth rather than stuff in the media...that's how the good info gets through

Or if you had an inquiring mind, listened to actual users experiences on these sort of shows, would you still go out and buy one? I think I probably still would, working on the theory that nothing could be as bad for me as smoking is known to be.

Perpetua I think that unfortunately we may be in the minority in many ways (as are the members on here and other forums) in that we DO have enquiring minds - just the fact that we and everyone else on here, ukv, ecr, etc. ARE forum members shows that we've been willing to go out there and find out more, in spite of the negative media coverage there has been previously. There are another, what? nine million smokers out there who haven't, and you have to ask, why not? Probably down to a combination of factors, not least of which are:- 1. what they see/hear/read in the media and 2. they don't have the wherewithall to go find out more for themselves. Media-wise, undoubtedly things are improving, as I have seen in my 18 months or so of vaping, but they are doing so at a relatively slow pace (especially relative to the rate of growth in e-cig take-up). But anything new has to overcome the inertia of govt/media doctrine before it can truly emerge from the shadows of existing perceived wisdom and begin to be really and truly appreciated for what it is. The sad thing is that as far as vaping is concerned, many more smokers will have succumbed to the health risks posed by tobacco by the time this stage is reached... sorry if this comes across as a bit "preachy", but it's one of those nights.....

A lad at work who was using the Smoking Shelter when I went out to have a vape during my break, said to me . . . ah, those are dangerous aren't they? I said to him - and smoking isn't?! Then spent the rest of my break trying to educate him, so unfortunately I think you've hit the nail on the head and aren't being preachy at all GJ.

Hanx Perpetua Your smoke-shelter bod was similar to the scaffolders & roofers that came into our place recently... one guy was on 60 Regal a day and didn't want to know, despite the vapers outnumbering the smokers in our place and all of us trying to get across to him all the benefits

It's a no brainer isn't it GJ, sadly. His habit must be costing him a fortune let alone the damage to his health.
