Nitecore Intellicharger i4 charger

Hi, I have a nitecore Intellicharger i4, but just of late  the left hand battery slot, is not charging. When I insert a flat battery, it just lights up all three lights, as if the battery is charged. If you get my drift. Any advice ?. It is about six months old, I would say.

Have you cleaned the contacts on the charger, also good to clean the battery contacts.

Hi Super-Shiny, not yet, silly question, how do you clean contacts on the charger ?

By the way, just checked, charger bought on 24 May 2013. I guess a year may be it's lifespan.?

Give ronaldo a shout he repairs electronics for a living so will know straight away what the problem might be !!!

i clean contacts on charger with methylated spirits you could use surgical spirit or even aftershave make sure that they arevery clean and smooth clean battery terminals the same way dry by blowing on them then retry

I use isopropyl alcohol for cleaning contacts with cotton buds but i suppose a bit of fairy liquid in warm water will do, just make sure the contacts are completely dry before trying again.

As it happens, I had a wee dram of meths at hand, cleaned the charger contacts, and I seem to have a functioning charger again. Sorry to bother you all with such a seemingly silly problem, and once again thank you all for your help, as always.

there is no such thing as a silly queston unless teethcv asks it
i bet more than1person has copied and cleaned there charger
so without knowing it you have helped someone
and that is what this forum is all about

Hi, The test charge after cleaning the contacts with Meths, seemed to go well, just checking the charged batteries. They all seem charged.

I obviously turned charger off when re-removing batteries, all seemed, well. But when turning on power to Charger, just to see if all was ok,  left hand side battery slot indicates battery full, i.e. three lights, but there are no batteries inserted in any of the batteries  slots/compartments. More cleaning or knackered, ?. 

Have not tried to re-charge batteries at this stage, a bit worried. ?

if you are still there plug charger in with no batterys in
if lights are still on you cannot get a shock
push spring up and down and tell me what is happening to lights

Hi, no batteries inserted, left compartment, 3 lights flashing, push up and done, no difference, 2,3,4, compartment no lights flashing, push up and down, no difference, no lights flashing.
