I didn't realise I could adjust the throw at the bottom till I was reading some reviews and saw some youtube videos. I obviously had mine way too tight, so once that was loosened up a bit it helped. Still got that problem with the 2mm gap which I definitely do not like, shouldn't be like that.
This is my first tube mod so it was all new to me. Didn't even know how to put it together at first, had all those bits n pieces to put together and my face must have looked rather baffled haha. What with 3 different sized pins to go in the top and a spare spring I wondered what the hell to do with it all lol.
Go on say it, Women haha.

It sounds quite complicated toots. Hope you don't have to wait so long to get it working the way you want.

toots I wasn't disputing what you were saying just trying to understand why a nipple top would cause atty to short, as I said I'm not familiar with vela mod. Actually, I don't know why it shorted out either. It shouldn't have done, and it wasn't just the dual coil that it happened to. I only got this thing working once I'd released the bottom throw, so maybe it was something to do with that, maybe not, never had one of these before, so I'm probably talking a load of dribble

its suppose to touch the upper contact all the time....its the screw inside the button once pressed that makes contact with the negative end of the battery to complete the circuit that then fires the atty. i been using ft caravela clone since xmas ...not had any shorts issues...is the centre pin wobbley? perhaps theres was always ashort in the atty but the the vtr 's protection stopped it shorting shows how naive I am with these tube mods doesn't it I thought, well you know what I thought by my sentence up above. You learn something new every day here Now which centre pin are you on about being wobbley? Don't want to show myself up again by reporting back on the wrong type of pin ok, is it the pin (throw) at the bottom or one of the pins at the top. Actually, it doesn't matter coz none are wobbly Oh, and whilst I'm at it, what's the best number of ohms for these things. Also is it better to have single or dual coils. I seem to have to really draw quite hard on it with my dual coiled 2.0 ohm protank 3 with air-flow controller. Oooops, it might be better if I opened up the airflow a bit more, somehow that got turned around whilst screwing the tank on the top of the tube a bit better now it is haha. Seems like new shiny toys are sent to try us, well at least me anyways
