I have many Chinese clones which are great value for money.

But Provari is built too last yearsssssss!!!!!.

My provari mini v2 is second hand (actually its 3rd or 4th hand....?) It cost me the equivalent of 3 weeks smoking...so it wasn't obscene costing as I get to keep it for the length of its usage/lifetime. It is a little scratched? but that adds to its usability - I prefer my gear to be 'lived in' as I'm then comfortable using it daily

I have to say, besides its build quality, which is excellent, that I personally adore its styling. I know some people find it ugly but to me its 'art deco' which is a style I love, so given the batch of mods on offer I would probably have steered to wards a provari mini regardless of its price.

That's so evident, the parts of pbusdaro's vids where he blanks out the screen show that they've got secrets they wanna keep from the cloners. One day though they'll discover the Provari secrets, then we'll get Provari clones at 30 quid a pop

The Provari was cloned years ago. (body and shape, obviously not the electronics)

Then the manufacturers moved on to variable wattage chip that came out of China as that was far more accurate. Then they were no so much clones as similar competing devices.

Obviously, their quality control sucks ( I speak from first hand experience of repairing several chinese VW devices) and they are not built to last, but they put the more advanced devices into the hands of the masses. They all have their niche market. You can buy a designer belt for 7 times the price than at Primark. Some would say it's a piece of leather and buy at Primark and others would go for the designer belt.

It's all down to individual choice. If there is one problem with the Provari, it's the glue that holds the circuit board to the body. My V2 had a problem because I was dropping batteries down the tube which knocked the glue loose and I had to open it up to fix it.

Have to say Phil kinda sold me on the provari with that vid. (I'm easily influenced!) then he mentioned the new thing coming out. Guess I'll just wait for that.
