I vape in the same room as my kids but make sure the vapor is not in anyway in their vicinity.
I treat vaping with kids like adults, those adults out there who do not vape and do not like the vapor near them for their own reasons, so as my kids don't know what is right or what is wrong yet i treat them the same as adults who do not like vapor near them.

Our kids didn't know we smoked as we snuck off like teenagers. Lots of regrets re. smoking now...never smoked in the house but we did in the car when on our own.
As for vaping...we do vape indoors now but out of sight if the small Smiths. Although we leave a window open now to disperse the clouds as hawk-eyed 7 year old daughter keeps almost catching us out!
We have vaped in front of my sister (15) who knew we smoked and wasn't impressed then. But only after I'd explained it was like nrt and explained the nitty gritty about the juices. She was pleased we've given up stinkies. If she appeared to dislike us vaping with her there then I would go into another room.
Like others have said...personal choice. I still can't get over my idiotic-head-in-the-sand notion that if the kids didn't know that made smoking ok. I'm not daft and have even lost close family to smoking one way or another but somehow I still had that mindset.

I don't do it in front of mine. They don't even know that I do it. I do ,do it in the house when they are in bed or out of the house. But never in front/ of them . I don't have a problem with them seeing people do it. Or seeing people smoke. They have seen both. And they have had it explained to them. Oily ts just I don't won't them to see there dad do it. Not yet until they are older.
I think it's a personal thing. I don't gugde either way. It's just not something I want to do in front of them until they are older

I don't see it as a problem TBH, I mainly vape in the one room where I sit at my PC away from the rest of the household, but if my 13 year old son happens to come in the room I still carry on. Most of the time he's either up in his room playing Xbox or out with his mates. I do blow the vapour away from him, and any other person present if i'm vaping at the time but I just see that as good manners. I'm always getting asked "MMM, what's that you're vaping, smells lovely" or sometimes "You and your bloody vaping..... smells good though"

I my youngest is 19 and vapes, she currently shares a flat with a friend and the friends 2 tots, ages 3 years and 18 months. The friend smokes, but 'only on the balcony' as if smoke won't blow into the flat! My advice to my daughter is to vape on the balcony, mainly to avoid the risk of either tot picking up her ecig, I fear if she uses it indoors and has to put it down in a hurry, the pretty shiny ecig full of red liquid would be irresistible to them. I think that risk far outweighs any detrimental effect from the vapour itself, especially when compared to the smoking mum. Daughter was on 0% nic but sadly since sharing with her friend she started smoking again so I've now got her on 12mg and I'm hoping her friend may convert to vaping in time.

I feel it's a bit different if your kids are teenagers. My two are still little ones. If they were teens then I think it's a lot harder to hide it from them. . They will walk in on you when you think you have the house to yourself. They will come across your gear at home, unless you lock it in a safe. So I think it comes down to manners with them. As you would will another non vapeing or smoking adult. Open a window. Be at the other end of the room. Don't blow it by there faces. I think there is just something a bit inbuilt in most of us to protect little ones from things like this more so than teens.
One thing I have to say that dose wind me up is someone smoking in a car with all the Windows up and little ones in the back. If the adult must smoke in the car then why not open the window ! I just don't understand that.

My halo has just ascended slightly. I've never smoked in the car, with or without kids. I vape in the car without kids and window open

I vape in the lift but always ask if people mind me vaping when they come in....
But I don't have kids and if any child sees me vaping at a bus stop I say 'tis my steam machine' and explain it that way....
Though don't like vaping in folks faces so like I won't vape in restaurants etc

It's early and I just read that as 'I vape in the loft'.

I'm very open with my daughter, she is 5 and we always agreed that if she is old enough to ask, she is old enough to have an answer (age appropriate of course). I vape in the same room as her but not when she is sat next to me and I vape when we are out and about together too.
She understands that smoking is bad for you and that I use an e-cig so I don't smoke cigarettes. She is a very sensible child and she knows not to touch my e-cig, all the liquids are kept out of her sight and reach.
I don't believe that there is any risk of "passive vaping", that's my opinion though.

You sound like a fine parent collie2011. I'm fed up of hearing the neighbours cat/dog/wombat/child has had nicotine poisoning because of irresponsible parents. Yes I know it's not good but you teach your child not to touch bleach et al from an early age. Should be the same with e-cig stuff

Exactly, if they are too young to know better, keep it out of reach and sight. Once they are older, explain why they can't mess with it. Kids aren't daft, if you are patient and explain and answer their questions, they get it.
