Hi all, Update to my thread. I listened to what you all said. I am now the proud owner of a Kayfun mini 3 Two Kayfun mega 3s and a Kayfun 4. I picked them all up second hand off another vaping forum. I paid £18 for the Job lot. I also ordered some pre made coils off ebay and some cotton just to get me started. I have so far recoiled and re-wicked the kayfun mini and the kayfun mega. I have had to re-wick the Kayfun mega as the first lot of cotten only lasted 24hrs. The new cotten in there is still good 48hrs laster. I have coming of fast tech some wire. also a twisty thing to make making coils easier. So i shall be having lots of fun trying to make some coils when they turn up. I have been watching some videos on you tube about it. I have only ordered the one size wire. 26 gauge. But i'm now thinking that i should order and couple of different sizes to see what works for me best in the Kayfun ? Any recommendations ? There seems to be quite a few different cottons on the market too. Any Recommendations For cotton.
At the moment im vapeing on a smok Osub TC80 , The power is wasted on me as i only vape at around 11 watts. I'm only interested in MTL vaping and i'm not that bothered about sub ohms , The tank that come with the mod is baby beast britt. I have tried it but i was not too keen.
Many thanks Hal.

I am going to wade in here. Kayfun V5 is the easiest tank i have ever coiled and you can even fit big old Clapton coils in it as well when you want to up the stakes a bit. On the first air flow setting it is an amazing mtl Vape and my favourite but move the airflow to the fourth airflow and you can lung hit (just) and the flavour from this thing is incredible. So much so it is my all day tank for home and work as i know it is hassle free, easy to fill in the go and easy to sort out on the go if anything goes wrong. I have this clone $19.21 SXK Kayfun V5 Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - Kayfun V5 (SXK), 316 SS, Silver (free shipping) - FastTech.com fs.tc/p/4984600Which has not missed a beat. So much so i have more in order. Thanks for that mate. I saved that one fasttech. I think i may go for that one come payday. Thanks again.

All of those you are curently using are eminently rebuildable - just google for rebuild videos. Never bin your old coils! The Aspire BVC coils (in the K1) are easier to rebuild as single horizontal coils. Plenty of nautilus head rebuild videos around too. I don't know much about pre-made coils (apart from they come with nasty silica wicks that are a pain to trim). Wire - start with 0.255mm (30AWG) kanthal. You can use a micro screwdriver set for a jig, or a cheap Kuro coiler from FT. Research, practice and perseverance are the key (oh and glasses and a magnifying glass) . Once you get the hang of it you will start to hate paying £2-£3 for a factory coil head. Also note that often the coil is fine and it is only the cotton that needs to be replaced after dry burning the naked coil (much easier with horizontal coils). Thank you for your replay. I will take a look on youtube about rebuilding the coil heads that i use.

Would a Kayfun Lite clone from Fastech suit you as a good starting tank for learning to rebuild halight ? You seem to have similar vape needs/style as me, and although they're not the latest and greatest things going, they are fantastic (imo) for MTL lowish watts vaping. They are dead easy to learn to coil on and there are so many vids on you tube to help you. I make simple 1.5 - 1.6 ohm coils using 28 gauge kanthal, wound around 2.5 mm rod. The good thing about KFL's is there are so many mix and match parts available on FT that you can build yourself new ones really cheaply. I think I have about 7 on the go at the moment Thank you for the reply and the link to the kayfun. I will check that one out. The good thing is i have read about people using those ! So its not a new name to get my head around. There is so much stuff on the market now its easy to get lost in it all ! Thanks again.

Efun have the Coil master V3 kit on sale for $23.99 everything in one bag to get you building aside from an atty that is. www.efun.top/coil-master-diy-style-kit-v3.htmlAs for tanks and coils can you narrow it down a bit what style of vape do you like, big airy cloudchasing or sucking a golf ball through a garden hose MTL? Thanks for your reply, I'm use to using the aspire nautalus , Don't think i have spelt that correct ! Its the old 5ml one one. I have also been using the aspire K1 and K3 too. The vw mod i'm useing at the moment is the smok OSUB TC80W . i'm not bothered about making clouds, More MTL sort of vaper

Hi all,
I have been vaping for three years now, Most people by now would have already had a go at doing this but i never have.
I would like to buy a tank that i can re-coil and re-wick myself, So i'm looking for recommendations off you fine people.
I would also like to buy some cotton, wire, A wire jig and some pre made coils for it too. I want the pre-made coils to use to get me started for use while i get to know how to make my own. I don't want to spend a vast amount of money so i'm thinking links for fastech would be good as i know that you can pick some good stuff up off them for a very good price. I also don't mind buying secondhand.
Many thanks in advance.
Hal
