Gave up with Outlook/Outlook express a long time ago, spam filters were a waste of time plus I dislike using Microsoft products that are bundled. Moved to Thunderbird and I've never been so disappointed, yes the spam filters are great but depsite doing all updates and uninstalling/reinstalling it still gives me grief... for the past 3 days I can read one email (on preview screen), that email then stays there nomatter what I do (except close/reopen Thunderbird, but the biggest problem is that I can no longer DELETE emails, it says that its deleting them BUTTHEY STAY THERE ON MY SCREEN.. even after a power cycle. I've always loved Mozilla products but Thunderbird has to go (that was a funny) What is everyone else using and what problems have you found? and do they have a DECENT spam filter?

Since I installed adblocker I have not had any spam or junk emails. This could well be a coincidence but it seems funny that they stopped at the time I installed adblocker and have never returned. I am using Outlook by the way

Sounds like the database is corrupted, are they in the inbox, or folders, whichever right click and select properties on the first screen press the repair folder button, that should let you get out of the annoying email, and read the others, also are you using POP or IMAP, the latter is best as it keeps the emails on your providers server, except those that you delete of course. You should also create folders to sort the emails into as keeping too many in the inbox can cause problems

Well..... tried the 'repair folder' option about an hour ago, its now sitting with an egg timer and I cant see ANY messages All the messages are (were) there, I just couldn't read them (unless I opened them in a new tab), delete them, move them or anything. I dont trust TB anymore so I want a good (free) email client recommended by someone who has used it without problems, spam filter is a must... SOMEONE must have one

Nice idea Super-Shiny

Having read more about Incredimail I dont think I'll bother, sounds like quite a few people are having problems and its far too gimmicky. Thanks for the suggestion though... still looking

Off to look at Incredimail How are you pulling mail from those servers? Could you have them forward to a gmail account? Do you need your emails to be accessible when you're not connected to the internet? Good luck I

Gmail I just check online (and on my phone) the others need the client, I'm always online so the last question doesn't count, I could forward them to Gmail but I would still need a client to do it, it cant be done serverside, but I'd like to keep business accounts seperate and on the pc

I'm sure that you can forward emails from one account to another from within Gmail, rather than using a client. I have an old Hotmail account which gets forwarded to my personal Gmail a/c, although the traffic is very low these days. I wonder if there might be a conflict on your system which is causing these problems; I'm no computer buff, but maybe a reinstall of your OS and mail client might solve some problems? Seems strange that mail messages are hanging in both clients that you've tried . . .
