with Marisol TOURAINE, our health minister, dogs days are over for e-cig. My dad lives in France and he was telling me the proposed plans and took them as gospel that 50% tax was going to be added and ecigs are being banned in public places in France the same as stinkies.

What is the "Cut off" date for this?
How many days until the cut off day?
With this information we may be able to get an idea what the final count is likely to be.

So I was thinking 176 days @around 100 signatures a day for the UK = 17,600 more signatures, which sadly means we could miss our target by around 14,000 signatures We NEED around 176 signatures a day.

trouble is, ronaldo, is that the majority of vapers out there don't look at forums, you tube reviews, etc., and don't have the interest as we forum members do.... THEY are the ones we need to reach for this to succeed

Its all of the above guys and gals . Yes Des our current target is ~179 /day . With the extra boxes going out that may improve the signature levels . An interesting exercise was done by a lady in Scotland Sandikel on twitter - she went into her local b+m shop 2 weeks ago now stayed the day and obtained 81 signatures herself
Another tale of a man who went for a pint of milk + newspaper from his local Sainsburys + 2 hours later unplanned had 45 signatures
I went down to Cardiff at the weekend and 4 of us collected 100+ signatures on European Free Vaping Day (the Saturday)
I tell these tales not to "big up" these people I mention ,but to simply say that its possible to get signatures ourselves
Other ways of helping as well are
1) offer your time to input signatures (these would be sent to you in an sae) this will give others more time to do other tasks
2) Do Google searches of your area ,check to see if any Vape shops are not on the map
3) Help to collect the signatures from your local shop(s)
4) Deliver supplies to your local shops ie posters, flyers.signature sheets
5) Tweet + praise vendors who are supportive ,and who maybe send out newsletters or flyers
Please don't dismiss points 1-5 ,they are just as important as anything else

Weekly/Monthly report from Slim(inventor+chief Dodo Box hatcher) "Hi all, Apologies for missing the weekly report last week (due to a family holiday). Weekly summaries :- April Mon 14th - Sun 20th Total 584 - average 83 per day Mon 21st - Sun 27th Total 1070 - average 153 per day Mon 28th - Sun 4th Total 1249 - average 178 per day May Mon 5th - Sun 11th Total 2052 - average 293 per day Mon 12th - Sun 18th Total 1253 - average 179 per day Mon 19th - Sun 25th Total 788 - average 112 per day Mon 26th - Sat 31st Total 602 - average 100 per day May's Monthly graph :- Total May signatures 5267, average 170 per day, adding 9.4% to our target and ending the month at 41.91% of our target (54,750). The average required per day at the end of May is now 179. Obviously the first half of the month was much better than the second half, mostly as a result of shops inputting signatures on a monthly basis - not daily/weekly. Across the whole month we were only just short (170) of the daily average we needed (179). Thanks to everyone's kind DoDonations, another 1000 Dodo Boxes have now been received and distributed to the regional coordinators. As a result, a further 350 UK Vape shops will be sent a box this week, as well as batches going to Portugal, Italy and Denmark. Thanks again to everyone (especially the regional coordinators and the EFVI team) for all their hard work this month. Hopefully June will be even better. Slim "

"Without me repeating my reply in the pm Julie ,huge thanks for your very kind offer . In some areas the Regional Co-Ordinator has had the thankless task of distributing the boxes ,taking them into the shop, returning a week or two later ,and THEN having to input the signatures . If you multiply that by 50 stores its pretty obvious that help is desperately needed . Quite a few volunteers have appeared recently ,but huge numbers more are desperately required all over the country " forgive my dtp skills - mine are of the dinosaur variety .

Phoenixflame (Julie) & all others who might step up... I'm a low volume volunteer. The biggest challenge I've found inputting signatures (I'm not doing very much) has been reconciling addresses and postcodes, along with the vagaries of handwriting and combinations therein. For addresses, I've found www.streetcheck.co.uk/ indispensable and I operate with two windows on my monitor - one taking up two thirds or more of the screen with the input site and a second with street check, maps and any other search I can think of... Slim (my regional co-ordinator) recommended entering postcode before address but I type very quickly and find it easier to type an address before checking the postcode Avoid the temptation to replace initials with first names and to make up street numbers to complete an entry - each error caught in sampling is likely to be magnified most horribly when accuracy is extrapolated to the whole dataset (and I've no idea of the method for checking other than what Slim's derived from his and others research (say the sample is 250 - that's 5% of 50,000 and 25 are bad or perceived as bad, then that 25 results in 5,000 signatures lost - others may not handle this in the same way but I know how I would have managed sampling in my career...) Turn off auto-complete if have it enabled - else it's easy to replace some of what you've entered if your mouse pointer is in the auto-complete `pop-up` frame.... Sounds complicated - it's not and you'll find your own way of working (what I've described works for me). For an easy record, I find myself spending roughly 90 seconds... the most I've spent is about 10 minutes (but I can be a bit obsessive) in trying to ascertain the complete and correct details. Hats off to you, good lady, for volunteering.

Thanks very much for the advice @tom777 I have bookmarked the streetcheck website. I am very thorough and would hate to think that even a single signature would be wasted, I will certainly do my utmost to make sure that they are all entered correctly.
