I bought a genuine kanger mini protank 2 and it arrived this morning, put it together, filled it with test juice and left it for a while (as you do). However, when I try to use it the light on my ego battery(s) just blinks 2-3 times and I'm getting nothing from the tank ??? I have 4 basic ego batteries and all of them are doing this weird blinking thing when I try to use them with the protank, does anyone have any idea why this is happening? I noticed its pushing the middle pin down on the batteries as well because I have to pull them back up when using my other tanks, T3S, which work perfectly fine.

It's sounds as though there is a short, have you tried taking out that head and inserting another?

Don't throw the old dead head away, amygx - hang on to it as you may one day discover the joys of recoiling, or at the very least send it along with some others to one of us and we'll recoil them for you!

Now I recoil all my used heads with microcoil and cotton wool.

How would one go about recoiling?.
I don't think I've thrown anything away yet, whenever something stops working or I replace a part, the old one goes in to a plastic clip bag and put in to my storage container.

amygx - whereabouts in the country are you? The easiest way to get to learn more about the recoiling of heads is to go to a Vapemeet, and ask someone there to show you how it's done. It looks quite complicated, but once you've made a few and got one to work, it gets easier and easier. Check out Super-Shiny's signature on any of his posts, this will take you to a Googledoc with links to all his guides, including recoiling ones. There are also many YouTube videos showing how it's done. Read, watch, come back here and ask questions, and best of all have a go. If the heads are knackered you have absolutely nothing to lose, and you should end up with a much better quality head which will last longer than shop-bought ones.

It's really easy to recoil following super-shiney's guides even a pensioner like me can do it. Just don't be scared to try read up about it first get the bits and pieces a and your away. My first one was unusable because I used the wrong wire but since then I make all of mine. The alternative is to start with prewound coils like these www.fasttech.com/products/1611705 and thread with cotton wool. If you do use cottonwool don't get Tesco or Asda they seem to have a perfume in them. Sainsburys Boots Poundland and Wilko have all had good reports

I started using microcoils about 4 months ago and bought a bag of CW balls from Superdrug for £1.99. I think I've only used 4 balls, and given 2 away, so am running at 1 ball per month (no smutty comments please!) - really quite cost-effective I think!
