Strange one is this.

If I fully tighten my protank3 on my vamo I get this ..



A quarter twist to loosen the tank slightly and then I get this..



Obviously on 0.1 the vamo won't fire up and I thought it was broken. Is this common?

There might be a short somewhere in the atomiser head. Next time it's empty, take the opportunity of rinsing and drying it, giving it a dry burn to burn off the gunk on the coil, and then make sure everything is well tightened down; this might solve the problem. If it persists, try a new attie head and save the old one for re-coiling.

I should of added that when it reads 2.0 it's perfect. Can't be a short surely or it would short even after the quarter twist?

Rubber seals are used as insulators so the 1/4 twist can make all the difference.

Could just be that you're over-tightening. I generally screw my atties on til I feel them make contact, then 1/4 turn more, and no more. Then screw the beauty ring up to meet the atty.

I don't use the beauty ring and never have done. Are you supposed to?

I just find it best to. I've never had a short, never broken anything I've vaped on. Screwing the ring up just adds support to the tank. I'd rather see a few threads than a gap between battery and head.

The point is if you are over-tightening it's possible to do permanent damage.

Mine wasn't on the vamo. I got it with the Protank kit

You've removed the ring I was talking about to get that one on. The top ring in the original photos is the one. There should be some room for adjustment, looks about 3 threads?

I'm   for my vamo to arrive, I'd take a pic to explain.

Oh you mean the top ring. I always have that on, I only took it off for the picture

Yep, that one. Just put the atty on without that additional beauty ring til it makes contact, 1/4 turn more, then unscrew the vamo's top ring to meet the atty.

I got there eventually. Sometimes I can understand why some get me wrong. Actually, I was getting worried I was wrong lol. Glad you're sorted
