In fairness I don't think I can send back to the vendor as the unit was working when I received it.

Good news people. It's alive..... In desperation I completely removed the centre pin and was going to take the unit apart but thought I would give it one more go. Reseated the pin and to my surprise it fired up. Thankyou to everyone for their advice. I think as a newbie I must have over tightened the atty or something! Anyway feel abit of a prat for panicking now but at least I'm saved from the analogues for another day On another note I am looking at new atties to replace the evod bc that I currently use, any recommendations? Ideally I would like to start rebuilding my own coils

Hi djs, I think I should have not used the word vendor, this indicates that it was bought from a business. I purchased the unit from the classifieds and in this instance did not feel that the member who sold the item was in anyway at fault. They had sold me the unit in a fully working order. If the unit had been purchased from a business then I would not have dared start taking the SVD apart as this would obviously invalidate the warranty. As I say the svd is now working again so happy days . If anyone feels that I was blaming the seller I apologise as this was not my intention, if anything the seller has gone out of their way to be nothing but helpful.

good to read that it working vom -- but you could have sent it back - no doubt - if it was working only for 1 day - that could have meant a default - and the vendor should replace it

hijack I used a small terminal screwdriver and slowly carefully prised it out. If the screwdriver is small enough you should be able to get under the pin without damaging the 'o' ring thingymajig, (sorry about terminology it's all still new to me)
