I've got a couple of bottles of juice steeping at the moment, or at least I hope I have , hence the questions.
I've got 2 different types of bottles steeping , one is a large 100ml bottle and the opening at the top is just over an inch wide , right now I have the cap still on the top but at a 45 degree angle so there is still a big-ish gap so air can get to it , is that ok ?? The other bottles are a lot smaller 10ml and 20ml bottles and they have the needle stopper tops but without the needle, so really just a plastic stopper with a hole in it really , should I take out the plastic stoppers so the juices can steep properly , I ask this because I can't find anywhere how much of the top of a bottle should be open to get the juices to steep to their best ???
Seeing as the steeping process requires the lids to be off , unless you're giving the juice a shake every now and then , is there a certain amount of juice no matter how small a % it is that is lost to evaporation and can the juice get condensation in it even if it's in a cool dry place to steep ??
Thanks
Andy

The old steeping question . Big bottles , small or tiny , just take of the top/ cap / stopper to air for maybe a few hours . Then just replace them back on , screw lids on, shake and leave in dark cool place for a week or two. Shake bottles daily / every other day. That's all you need to do.

As @purple1234 says, the old steeping question! I have tried all ways and TBH there seems to be such a small difference between caps on and caps off that I just don't bother, just bottle the mix and then leave it for about 2 weeks, more if it''s something like a custard or dessert juice. At the end of the day, it's the amount of time that you leave the juice to steep for, not how you do it, that makes the difference. Pop the caps back on, give them a good shake, and then just forget about them for a couple of weeks. They will steep in their own good time

I never bothered to take the tops off. When juice arrived it just gets thrown in a drawer and left for a few weeks. No shaking or squeezing our air etc.
So don't worry about it or over complicate it. End of the day all you need to do is not vape it for a week or so.

I put mine in the hot press/ airing cupboard, or sometimes I just carry a bottle in the pocket of my work trousers, I have them on all day and the body heat seems to speed the process up, the liquid goes from virtually clear to a deep honey colour within a week, dunno if this is the "proper" way but it works for me , lol

I have always done this and it keeps all your liquids well mixed mine never separate so always taste at there best and speeds up the steeping as well if you feel around your washer when it is running you will soon find the warm spots and the cold spots so you can have different juices at different temperatures as well always willing to help and simple is good for me
