Is it me, or do microcoils gunk up faster than stock coils. I am playing with wicks at the minute and changed a wick late yesterday evening and around 11am today and it was gunned to the extnt I had to use a toothbrush to help clean it? No changes in my juice and it is a clear e. I also notice that the juice turns dark in less than a tank full!

I'm no scientist but I think microcoils burn hotter and gunk quicker. Do you dry-burn your microcoils when you change the wick?

It's more down to the juice, I find Red Astaire hardly gunks up coils, lasting 2 weeks before needing a dry burn.

The juice I am using is clear...in the bottle but almost a dark rum colour within half a tank! I change my wick around every two days and run it under the tpa and dry burn until it glows nice and red, sometimes giving it a little squeeze if the coils are loose...then again, if I remember correctly (too many tanks on the go) I think this was one of the original microcoils so around 4 -5 weeks old...it couldn't have had it already?

SO many variables MrsmacMy Taifun one is 3 weeks old. My mini PTs rarely last more than 2 weeks with some dry-burns.

I replace the cotton and do a dry burn every time I refill,,,,probably unnecessary but with the micro coil setup its so easy , why not.

I've had a micro coil in my Kayfun for two and a half months and it's still got lots of life left in it. Once a week it gets a dry burn and a fresh cotton wick. Are you putting enough cotton through the coil?

I have to dry burn as it is so gunked. I will see how they perform in another tank as well with a different juice a I have found another fav. Definitely not complaining, with standard heads I would have been opening the third one by now

Are you putting enough cotton through the coil? Lol unfortunately due to my continually-testing-itis I can not be accurate on that. I am using several different wicks at the moment, mainly cotton configurations though. When I move the cotton you can tell where the coil sat but the cotton isn't overly black like some I've seen on google

I got excited by the smutty thread title, but while I'm here I find the same as DiscoDes that the juice is the main cause. But as u say its working nicely for you it's all good.
