Q, you got one with the full display?

Received mine today. It's got the olde style display

The first pic defo shows the new firmware/display, but the 3 darkened pics show the old style. Definitely showing two different models. Gonna email them, dead peeved at this.

Definite they'll get an email today. This one has the old display and won't display the serial number.

I'll be honest tho, it's the first problem I've ever had ordering from focal. With luck this'll be resolved quickly.

Hold down all three buttons at the same time for a few seconds Q. Bad ones just fire, the better ones show the serial number.

tbh I'm not too sure about the validity of serial numbers with the clones. We may find that a batch of 100 V5s could share a number.

Cant seem to get a serial

edit... Just tried my 'old' one (prev software) and that shows a s/n but the new one (latest s/w) doesn't

I got a KSD V5 that displays the number. I have 2 from a previous focal buy that display the number. I now have this one that doesn't.

Doesn't mean there's anything wrong. Likely they just missed the serial number function from the firmware when they cloned it, to get it on a smaller/cheaper ROM.

I might still keep this one. The tubes fit together really smooth, and in 18650 mode it's dead straight. Even my KSD one has gone banana.
