CaptainChaos when you re-assemble it do as I say and don't screw the atomiser on too tight, also check the coil head centre pin is central in the bottom of the atomiser.

The worst thing you could have done is split the rubber washer under the centre pin on the Zmax, but that is easily repairable.

normally water 1-2 hours but juice overnight should be fine

woah!! easy, tiger !! No stabbing or wrenching involved.... just a small flat-blade screwdriver, and gently prise up the centre pin in the 510 connector... standard maintenance on 510 connectors. I'm sure there's a quick vid-guide here somewhere.... I'll be back

but on a serious note CaptainChaos
for the rice to be more effective you should seal top of container with cling film or put in something air tight. the rice draws in moisture, even from the air, so if it is in something air tight only one place for it to draw moisture from.
