I'm a little confused if something is sold as an Ego battery, and has the Ego-T logo on it would you expect that to be a genuine Joytech product or is "eGo" seen as just a generic term for the "type" of battery? For example if a product is advertised as: eGo 1100mah battery would you be expecting to get a genuine "eGo" or a "fake" eGo?
My understanding from googling is that the "fakes" firing button is Blue whereas the Joytech ones are white, they are a slightly darker colour plastic and are prominent whereas the real ones are concave plus the fakes have 4 ego threads and the Joytech ones have 5 but as I said thats from googling and I'm no expert.
What I do know is that I have one of each type - I'm pretty sure one is genuine and I am not convinced about the other one.
Does it matter if the battery is not a genuine Joytech eGo? Would you still use it? Would you contact the vendor of the suspect one if the battery was described as it is above?

Been using cheap ego twists for aaaaages snow. They've lasted well and no issues apart from the charge time seems to be about 5 hours for the 1100 ones. Got a couple so I use one and charge the other. They say ego-c twist on them but haven't got the joyetech engraving on the bases.

eGo has pretty much become a generic term now to describe that type of battery and function, just like a vacuum cleaner is a Hoover.

Ego has become a Generic name for a E-cig battery that has an "Ego" connector like a Hoover as opposed to a vacuum cleaner. As the "Ego" battery has been cloned many many times; it's now not about being genuine it's about quality. If you need to be absolutely sure then buy a kangertech battery, but just as good an assurance is to buy from a good Vendor that will stand by their products.

I'm happy with the vendor - it is one on here and elsewhere, just was surprised when they arrived to find the blue firing button and wasn't at all sure that was "right" as it's different to my original 1100 so went googling. My original lasts me over 8 hours so if these come close to that I'll be happy.
Thanks for putting my mind at ease.

I've still got (and is in vape case as backup and still gets used occasionally) my original ego-t 1100mAh battery. It's lasting bl00dy well, has never missed a beat, and has survived a leaking clearo flooding it... and still it goes on almost 2 years later, and the threads are still good...
It's not a joyetech one, but who cares?
